Everyone I need advice. I want to buy an embroidery machine however I can not afford an embroidery and sewing combo. I can get a floor model brother embroidery only But I want to know can I get a featherstitch,(blanket stitch) or button hole , design to use for quilts?

I can use my Singer 221 for straight stitching but the blanket stitching I use for my quilts I go to the sewing
shop and use their machine once a month. So is a design available . Otherwise I will wait until my allowance is a bit larger. Thanks for any advice.

the brother 800e is embroidery only, it has blanket stitch on frames only, so you could do a patch or similar but not a long line, it has a lot of designs also...wendy

A good time to get a good deal on any sewing & embroidery combo is at a Craft show ,Mothers Day, Christmas & the end of the financial year. Also when a new model comes out ,old stock & demonstration models are reduced.Recently I bought a new machine for half price because a new model had come out with only a couple of new features ,which I wouldn't use.Other times might be applicable depending where in the world you live, just make sure you are really happy with it or just keep on saving for your dream machine.

Perhaps one of our members could digitize the blanket stitch for you in certain set lengths, such as 6",12",15"...Buttonholes are supposedly easy to digitize also, but I have picked up about 12 for free through the years. Wouldn't let either of these minor things stop you from purchasing machine now.

Hi Stella, I believe there are button hole embroidery designs around, but not sure about a blanket stitch. Hope you find what you need - our embroidery machines are wonderful - but they are so expensive!! Hugs to you, Laura
