I enjoy teaching younger folk how to sew. Here I caught my son's friend and he really took to it. He says he is going to continue and I think he will. Here is the pic of the pillow envelope and pillow he stitched. He still needs to work on seam allowance and straight stitching. His first project is fantastic and he is so happy! There is a denim pillowinside which is where we started, though I missed getting a picture. and yes of course I short sheeted myself once again, as you can see on the side of the back. He said he would fix it, though that did not happen.

How about a pillow case for a bed pillow? He can choose some manly fabric for the body and a solid for the edge.

The main thing is he has something finished. I am sure he will try more things and will get better as he goes along.
Both my boys can sew but still get Mum to do things for them. But if needed they can do a basic repair for themselves.
Encourage him as much as you can and make it fun.

Yes he is here and told me his Grandma used to fix his stuff and tried to teach him, and now wants to stitch as it reminds him of her.
