I have a Brother Innovis 4000D single needle machine, and I love it. I have toyed around with the idea of the snap hoops/magna hoop, but I really can't find out enough information to see if I would really use them. Does anyone know anything about them or if there is some new gadget that you know of that is helpful and/or you can't live without? Thanks.

I have a metal hoop with magnets that I use a lot. The one I use was made specifically for my machine so have not had the problems others have had. If they do not make one for your machine,( I have a Husq.) then I would do as the others suggest and get one from a dealer. I think I would only buy on line, if it could be returned. Good Luck.

I don't know aout the Brother but I have a Viking and I do like the magnetic hoop. Makes getting your design right where you want it easy and the magnets are really strong so I haven't had any problems with it holding tight. You night try one it the size you use the most to see how it works for you. I have a 240 x 150 and that works for a pretty good size design.

I bought them for my Janome 500E and they fit fine.
The magnets are very strong so you do need to watch your fingers as the name says Snap ( and ouch)

Thank you. I'm not sure my fingers can take any more abuse. I seem to hurt them constantly.

Our quilting store sent them back and no longer sells them. The first one did not fit even though I carefully shaved it as directed. I was lucky to get a second one that went into my emb. attachment without a problem.
While at the store another day I told a woman to try out the hoop on a machine to be sure it went into the attachment. Only one out of the 5 worked! That's when the store took them off the shelf.
I do find that it does not always stay in place while stitching. Am not happy that I spent all that money and don't use it.
The first cutie who wrote told you of the special problems she had with it, so listen to that. She's happy now, but it cost her some money and if money is not a problem, go for it. Good Luck whatever you choose to do.

It did help me, thank you. I have decided that for now, I don't need any magnetic hoops.

If you have a hard time hooping, this is for you. I own 2 and love them. I did have an issue at first and I think it send my machine for repair. There was little nub on the plastic part and it was hard to slide in the hoop. After that it only recognized the 5x7 hoop size. That was fixed. I love using the hoops when embroidering or finishing my quilts. So much easier when you have 2 layers of fabric and batting. I believe there are some YouTube videos about the use of the hoop.

thank you. I sometimes struggle with hooping, but I don't do much embroidering on quilts. So I'm still torn.
