I think the "bricks" look good....although I think that they might detract a bit from the window effect...I just might keep solid borders and vary the widths...decisions, decisions, decisions...
All are beautiful! My favorite one is with the gray, oh no I like the 4th picture best! I can't make up my mind either! Great job!
I think the gray you like is my blue bed blanket underneath my cut apart panel-lol- I posted the progression of the panel.
Thanks
Beautiful outcome. I have this panel, I just don't know if I could do this. Very Nice.
I think I may just add bricks at the top and bottom of this and make a throw for a gift. If I keep it throw size, I am hoping to free motion quilt it. I have another panel I can do something with later.
Oh, Toogie, this is fabulous! I like your brick idea or the applique leaves sounds good, too. Not much help, huh? Can't wait to see what you come up with. Hugs*, Deb
It's brilliant Toogie. If I was doing something like this I'd add borders with the colour range at the bottom right hand side on the panel - mainly the greens and fawns etc. I notice they've given 14 colours to match up with the panel.
I agree with pennyhal and include window type borders which would need to be at least as wide as the smaller window panels on the main piece. I'd finish it off with a plain brown or something dark that won't mark when handles. I've got a white quilt cover on my bed and lots of time I smooth it out in the morning forgetting I've had makeup on my hands!!!!!!!!!!! Need I say more!
Anyway Toogie I'm sure you will come up with something stunning. Love Chris
Thanks Chris for your input and your faith in me! I have about 6 colors in my stash and only had to buy this lightest color.
Have fun and I look forwards to seeing the finished quilt
It's gorgeous. If you need to increase the size, how about a simple border of appliqued leaves?
I need about 18 inches all around and then a final wide border. The leaves sound great. I found a maple one but I may try to find a large oak leaf, like in the photos.
Well, what a beautiful piece you have created, Toogie...It looks just like we are looking out a forested window...I love it.
Thanks Kim, your opinion is appreciated. I do hope you are safe and far away from the fires.
This is really lovely! I'd use it as a center piece in a quilt. Maybe adding more Attic Windows around it using forest or deer fabric in the centers. Actually, it is probable a good size for a tv throw too. You were brave to cut that panel up!
It may end up a throw for my son. It's a shame I can't make and give him something and not worry his wife will burn it, ruin it or just get rid of it. I know he would like it.
I bought two of these so I wasn't too nervous to cut😉
Lookiig great. I would not be game to something like that. Hugs
Thanks Shirley , you know me I like to 'try' something different at least once to see if I can do it.
So, sooo beautiful! I love the 3 d look too!
Thank you Jan, I knew when I bought these I wanted to make this window but haven't had time until now. I am pleased with it so far.
You are a brave sole. I would have not known where to cut. It will be interesting to see what you end up doing. I have no suggestions
Some might say crazy instead of brave- lol- no suggestions Angie? I am surprised you being a quilter I thought you'd be the first with an idea.😉
Absolutely awesome Toogie just love it
Thanks Carol, no suggestion ? It's too large for a wall and too small for a bed, like it is.....
