Need some help. Who has embroidered on vinyl? I remember some mentioning it.

How easy is it to do?
I have someone who has gone and bought some and wants me to do up something for her. (It will all be lettering). Like a small banner.

I use silicone lubricant spray on the vinyl first it helps it to slip, I"ve used it on other fabrics too, does not leave a mark on fabric...wendy

You can't pin it down because holes will stay there. I use tape. It's very easy, in fact I found it's easier to embroider vinyl than to sew it.

As dailylaundry said, nothing too dense. You won't need a lot of understitching either.

I embroider on vinyl quite a bit - I do try not to use dense designs - and I do slow my machine down. But, I don't use any special needle or anything like that. If you mouse click on my name and then hit projects - you'll see some the the vinyl stitching I have done. Good luck! Hugs, Laura

It is quite easy to embroider on vinyl...I made some ITH Hand Saniziter holders made out of vinyl...three layers stitched together beautifully...no special needle or threads needed.
