I am glad to read you are not taking risks. Flooding is so very serious! Prayers continue for all affected by this flooding. May you continue to be blessed with no lives lost.
My thoughts are with you and your family and all the other people there and i hope this is over soon and everybody is safe.
Hugs,
Gabi
Praying for you all. Our son lives in Kirwan, hopefully his area will be safe. Our daughter's home is in Kirwan too, and we have a home there too.(we live in Innisfail, but we come and spend time there from time to time) Yesterday the water came to about 2 mt away from the garage door at both our homes. our daughter has moved to Cairns for her work, and the property is currently empty, the tenants having moved out recently. Today our son and a friend went and sand bagged her garage door and front door. Our neighbours in Townsville kindly sand bagged our doors yesterday. I am worried about everyone, especially now that the dam gates have opened, and releasing 2000 cubic mts per second.
Please stay safe.
Mary C.
Hi Mary, Because this is a 1 in a 100 year event, I don't think anyone is safe at present. The army, police, SES and the disaster groups have been doing a wonderful job. At this stage we have no loss of life, If you google the Townsville Flood map you may be able to see where your house sits within that map. The police started evacuating people around the weir school. We have to put our trust in God. We are staying off the roads and take no risks.
love Barb
Just saw the news Barb my heart goes out to you all. We are down in South Australia where they’ve had no rain for 50 days!!! We had to drive to Pory Noarlunga from Port Elliot viaanother route today as there was s huge bushfire. Praying for the rain to cease and help our drought stricken Communities. ❤️👵🏻
Chris it is so bad we are now going to get high winds of 125 km and tornados. Our daughter was given 5 mins to evacuate and had to drive through the flood waters with the kids crying. Her husband works in the mines and won't be able to get home. To top it all off they have predicted a cyclone to form in 3 days off Townsville. The Dam is 244% and the flood gates will be fully open at 8pm tonight and the release will be 2000 cubic Lts per second.
The Burdekin Dam is at 150%. At this stage we still have power. I wish we could send this rain further south to the bush fires and to the farmers. Large mud crabs and the croc are surfacing. The Kangaroos are hopping all over the place in the suburbs and through the water looking for food.
down south we complain about our Heatwave but you are in a much worse Situation I hope and pray that it gets better soon hugs Ursula
I will cry out to God that He pushes those rain clouds over to areas that are lacking in rain.
A scene I'm all too familiar with, praying the dam holds and the rain ceases or at least moves on and that all in the path of this water are kept safe.
My heart goes out to you and my prayers are being uttered for you. Please stay safe and not risk your life.
Prayers being sent for you and yours. Stay safe. Hugs,*, Deb
