So clever. lovely bag. Thank you for the link
You're very welcome. I've only made 2 for me and my daughter, but I've helped a few put theirs together. Everyone just loves my bag and honestly, I do too. This was a Benartex charm pack, but can't remember what it was called. I had it a while though, so they probably don't have it anymore.
What a great bag and use of your stash well done .I have been cutting all my scraps into squares and have heaps of 2,1/2" squares im going to have a go
Thanks again! I had forgotten all about this bag. Hugs*, Deb
I typed this bag in to You Tube and watched the video. I am so glad you posted how you did it---may be a project, just maybe for me. Thanks Toogie.
Oh, Wow! You never fail to amaze me with all you manage to make-figure out-quilt-sew-donate! Are you sure there's only ONE of you?! LOL! This bag is WONDERFUL! Hugs*, Deb
Thanks Deb and I just found out a medium size is only 108 (2 1/2 in) sqs, so 3x9 grid equals 27 for each panel. I may try this one as I am afraid the Bitty Bag may be too small for a purse, not sure.
Beautiful bag Toogie! And even better when you figure it out for yourself. I love how it goes together. Just curious, what is the purpose of the little loops?
The loops are to hook your keys or charms etc. Sometimes we can figure it out and when you do, its so good you don't have to buy a pattern, especially when you may just make one of it.
Thanks for the info. This looks like it would be a fun bag to make, if I could find the time. I'm currently working on sanitary supplies for girls in Uganda and then I've a very long list of projects to attempt. Sigh!!! Maybe if I spent less time on the computer.
Toogie, your's is beautiful. Anyone would be proud to own this bag. Your talent is amazing.
Toogie your bag turned out great! I have the regular mondo bag pattern and the smaller one and haven't made them yet. I need to get one done after seeing yours!!!
How many squares are on the smaller panels and what size are the Sqs? This is called the Mondo, the largest.
WOW what a great bag! Your projects continue to amaze me! Suzanna
It looks great, Toogie. Beautiful work.
I've made some bags using just 12 4" squares. Much simpler than your pieced blocks, but same way to sew them together - and smaller of course. Bernina had a Permission Bag in one of their Through-the-needle-off magazines years ago where every 5" felt block was embroidered - pattern still available at Indygo Junction.
But you are right: Cuties just have to see it and figure it out themselves.
I seem to remember a Cutie made some smaller, purse size like this, with embroidery. What's a Permission Bag?
The (silly) name was given as they gave "permission" to digitise your own squares.

Brilliant work! Thank you for sharing your bag making gifts. I love how your mind just knows how to make it happen.
They pretty much tell you everything you need to know but I do love a challenge. I may never make another and then again I was thinking.... It would make a great bag for special toys grand kids just have to bring when they go to sitter ( meπ)!
Good afternoon Toogie, it's 1.45pm Thursday afternoon as I look at this post. What a great job you have done, and isn't YouTube amazing for showing one how to do things. You've done a great job and the colours are really great, they don't show the dirt. Love Chris
They all came in a 5 inch Charm Pack but two, the lining country blue and the navy, on the handles. I think I used 192 two and half inch sqs, but the 5 in Charms only yeilded 168, so I used the navy to make up the difference.
You are so right about the Internet, kids say 'just google it' and it's true. You can find anything.
Oh, Toogie, this is adorable, but I'd have to see it in person to begin to understand how to put one together. Your fabrics all long hand-selected and coordinated to the nth degree. Such a cute result. You're still on my smart cookie list. Sent you a PM.
You give me too much credit and I'm sure you could make one. I'll check my pm.
Thank you for the inspiration. I have so many 2 1/2 squares and strips that I will try that some day. I love your purse and you are amazing with all you do.
P.S. If you want to make it smaller use the same principal but using only 3 squares per row.
Yes I saw that mid size with 3 rows. This one is way too large for anybody's big purse! Thanks Angie and if you just wanna make a big print and not cut all those sqs, my lining and finished 4 strips were each 8 1/2 in x 25 inch.
You are a clever Cutie. Kudos to you for figuring out how to make the bag. And a high five for using everything you needed from your stash. I love it and know you will use it and show it off with joy.
I just get a certain satisfaction when I try and succeed at something. You can't even tell anything is missing from my stash π³ππ
