Toogie been married 50 years and he still says as long as I am happy but I am careful and do not go overboard
The last one is my excuse and I am sticking with it, Lol! It is so important to have the correct color. My hubby can't say much as he has more stuff than I do.
Congratulations for the arrival of your new great grandchild!
As for my husband, this is his opinion:
"If you can't beat them, join them"!
Hugs Roberta
Congratulations on the new great grandbaby girl....We have 3 little greats - all girls, but 4th one due in October....not sure what it is just yet. I always thought I enjoyed my grands so much, the these greats are so much fun. The youngest is 22 months old, and we keep her one day a week. What a joy!
Congratulations Toogie on the new great-grandchild and health and happiness to the new parents. Has the baby girl got a name yet? Love Chris
Congratulation to your family on her arrival, any name yet..
As for my hubby he has come to terms with the size of my stash ie he has no idea, but ask him to go to Spotight to get something and he knows exactly where it is. I think I'll keep him around.
We finally got a baby! We haven't actually seen her but do have a photo. Of course, she is a beauty!- lol
Congratulations on the new baby! We are expecting a grand daughter any day. Unfortunately, she is a 12 hr car drive away. We will leave as soon as she goes into labor. So exciting.
It has been a long wait and we are still waiting. Both mom and baby doing good but slow. ...
While not my husband, when my daughter was a teenager she said she hated shopping with me because I touched everything and talked to myself the whole time! And still do. Husband just shakes his head. Hugs. Nan W
Just love the stories , my husband just says it keeps her happy , my son on the other hand said "Gee Mom one day I might have lot of fat quarters for my shops" , he has 4 Bernina stores.
Big sigh here. My husband is no longer with me, but I am sure he would have said "Why don't you use up what you have before buying more" Ironically he was always proud of whatever I created and told everyone about it. At one point he financed my yarn shop. Now I have to watch myself not to be spending too much. No one putting a restraint on my spending.
My husband knows what I have,,,(and I bet I have more than any of you) he has no problem with it. He tells me he supports anything I do. I am the one who has called a halt to fabric buying. I DO have as much as the fabric stores. I have a keeper!
I'm just remembering what one sewing customer confided to me at an event: he has no idea how many places I have fabric stashed. I could relate, because we can fit it in lots of little spaces.
I loved this post!!! I am one of the lucky ones - my hubby is so supportive - if I say, I'm going to the fabric store - he'll come along! But, I am, like you, very careful how much I spend and he knows it. Maybe, you should tell your DH, the next time he says that - you're going to say, "and then, we head to the tool department, you should see how he rubs and feels those tools!!!". I bet he stops telling people that!!! LOL!! Hugs to you and your Dear Hubby!!, Laura
My husband said " If something happens to me, you wouldn't know until you need me to make a fabric run" :}
Trev is great, whenever we go on overseas holidays he's always the first one to ask if I'd like to buy some fabric. Of course, what do I say to that, but YES! You can never have enough. He he he! Gotta love our men, don't ya? He is impressed by my stash as it's all colour co-ordinated in my baskets in the white cupboard he bought for me to put it in!
I am so impressed that you are a great grand-mother Toogie, I don't think we'll ever have great grand children. Our eldest grandcild (a grandson) is only 13! Love Chris
My Hubby can't complain. I think he has as many boxes of receipts as I have of fabric and scraps. At least mine are good for something.
LOL - Toogie. For one thing, I could never get my hubby to go into a material store, or anywhere there is fabric. Since we have been in a move, I found that his "stash" is as big as mine, or bigger, but he has said:
"Your side of the house is going to fall off if you put one more piece of anything in there."
"You DO NOT need one more thing". Can you believe that? Silly old man.
But I have to say, after 55 years of marriage he is tolerating my stash, for he knows how I feel about sewing. And I have come to the conclusion after this move, that I do need to use up some of the stash I do have. I have even blessed a couple of the Children's home and hospital with some of the quilts I have done with all of the fabric. And he has posted several pictures of the quilts I have made to his classmates site. So I think that even though I have a lot of clutter at times, he is proud of what I do.
