What a find! Are these hand stitched? if so that is a lot of work. I like the hexi quilt top and I know you will do wonderful things with it.
Love sun bonnet sue. You always have so many ideas. Great find from
your friend and great job in preparing them before you work at them.
A pity Trudy’s daughter doesn’t want the quilt???
The sunbonnets are so darling, and each a different fabric dress. this is an heirloom you have. The blue looks good also with it. And muslin or a small calico on the backing would look good. Good job on cleaning them all up. Happy quilting! thanks for sharing!
The calico is a good idea as I won't have enough of this blue for the back too, thanks
Great work Toogie and I hope you figure out something to do about those blocks For me when I make quilts I always use a cotton backing fabric. Love Chris
Yes, I do too. I'm afraid I won't be able to work on them for a while. I will soon get Nora and Gus for almost a week.
I think the blue compliments the sunbonnets nicely and muslin for a backing sounds good to me too. I also think you should keep the quilt 5x6, especially if the girls or their mother don't want the pillows. I don't know what to say about the hexagons. I'm sure you will figure something out, even if it is just to make something out of sections of the quilt if parts of it are in good shape.
Not sure if I'll do anything for the quilt. As for as the blocks, they are put on hold.
Sweet results. What a good friend to think of you!
You remember Trudy don't you? She's having a partial knee replacement tomorrow. We will go meet her husband after I leave the optomologist tomorrow.
You are amazing, Toogie - and you are a great friend! Wonderful work!!
