Oh toogie, I have been in my own and missed your post. I believe God's grace has brought Rylan through this scare. Prayers for complete recovery. I am so glad he is home and you all are there to support the family. I will now look for pics of the new baby.
Dad said Rylan did GREAT today. So great in fact, he scares them. Trying to keep a 2 1/2 year old still or at least from tripping, falling the next 3 months will be a daily struggle for the next 3 months. The swelling in his eye has gone down today but that side of his head is still swollen. You can see the beginning of the 55 plus stitches but directly from the front as in this picture does not show the worse. My heart hurt so much when I first saw it, I'm glad it was a photo Caleb sent me. It gave me a chance to compose myself when I actually saw him in person, as it was pretty shocking. Pray he doesn't bump it, especially while it's healing.
Here he is today and you can just see in the photo the energy he has! Look at that beautiful smile!
Rylan came home and what a homecoming it was!
His papa( our son) asked Rylan what he wanted when he got home. Rylan told him he wanted fish to eat & a birthday cake. The day he was born is in October, but we brought presents and had a cake for his 'new' birthday and had fish when he got home. We didn't stay long because he got sleepy and we know they are worn out.
We ask for continued prayer for Rylan and give God the glory for making him 'okay'. We know without Him, things could have been so much worse.
Wonderful news Toogie!!! Love that Rylan wanted Birthday Cake!!! Prayer continued!
I have to say something about my son Brian or at least tell you what he did so you will know what kind of dad/grandad he is.
Brian got me to shave his head for Rylan๐๐ so he would be like him, no hair. Today Caleb , Rylans dad shaved his.
Rylan told Brian he wanted some fish and a birthday cake when he got home- Brian said he would have them waiting and he did. (I told Brian that Rylan does have a 'new' birthday- Jesus gave it to him early Saturday morning!)
Then Brian went and swept/mopped at Caleb's (they just had a baby a few weeks ago)washed dishes - ordered and picked up Rylan 'birthday' cake๐ and cooked Rylan and everyone else fish for supper/dinner!
I don't want it to sound like they don't keep house, they really are clean. It's just that they left in a rush so there were a few dishes. I guess he thought he would mop as caleb's wife just had a baby.
how wonderful he's home again. prayers for a speedy recovery will continue. Hugs )))
I'm so glad things are working out. Prayers for your family! Hugs, Jan
I am so happy at the continued progress. I can just imagine how difficult it must be to watch that a toddler doesn't trip or fall. Maybe he should were a helmet.
Such wonderful news, Toogie...I'm with Angie...a helmet might be a good idea!
They did ask for a helmet and hospital said he doesn't need one. They said helmets were for patients that are missing part of the skull....I know we all would feel better if it were 'protected' by something physical. We just have to pray for the Lord to put an invisible barrier of protection around him.
Bubble wrap. This grandma would request full head bubble wrap. ๐. Iโm so thankful for his miraculous healing. Continued prayers and I do love the solidarity of those precious shaved heads.
Such wonderful news! And prayers of praise still going. Hugs. Nan W
Oh my Toogie. Just saw this. You all have gone through so much. Pleased to hear he may go home tomorrow. Prayers for a fast and good healing. Hugs
Cuties it is a great day today! Rylan has been moved out of Pediatic ICU into a room on the floor. He should even go home tomorrow. They talked about releasing him today but decided to wait one more day. They will remove his bandages tomorrow to show & instruct how to care for his head. I'm sure it will be a shock to Caleb but thank goodness Taylor is trained in wound care. I wish I could send you the video I received from Rylan himself, but I will just pass on his message to all of you and just send his picture this morning. He said 'Thank you for your prayers!' My heart is bursting with gratitude from God and love of this child !!! It indeed is a good day the Lord has made!
The Great Healer did His magic.
That is quite a shiner he has. It will be the colors of rainbows.
Probably so! In the video It looks like the other eye is turning black underneath. He saw himself in a mirror, for the first time today, when daddy took him to potty. He didn't want to walk but wanted Caleb to carry him. When they went into the restroom he saw himself. He didn't say anything about his eye but he told his dad to take that 'hat' off of him. Caleb will probably be sick when he sees Rylans head the first time. He has a very weak stomach....
Praying for "both" of your boys! That precious child was held together with love. I hope the little sweetheart gets to go home tomorrow to his toys. Children are so resilient. I'm giving thanks that he's better.
Thinking of you all and your brave little man. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
I just read this.
My thoughts are with you and your family; warmest wishes for a prompt and complete recovery for the sweet little guy with the chicky smile.
Oh, toogie, I just read this. I'm glad it looks like he's quite the little fighter and seems to be on the mend. I'll be praying that everything goes well with Ryan until you tell it's okay to stop. Take care, dear lady! Hugs and prayers for Ryan and you family.
Oh Toogie, what a scary 24 hours you have had. I'm adding my prayers for a full recovery for Rylan and strength and comfort for all of your family.
Continuing to prayer for complete healing and strength/peace for the family.
The staff has got Rylan up walking. Did my heart good to see. Our little Rylan before and after fall. Continue with prayer and thanksgiving for God sparing our little boy and complete healing.
He probably looks wrong to you right now, but to me, he is darling either picture. Praying with you.
Oh Toogie, my thoughts are with the little sweetheart and the family, believe everything will be alright.

The neurologist just came in- said they had to remove part of the skull to drain & relieve pressure and then put it back- won't know if he will make full recovery for a few days _ said was good he hadn't went comatose before they got him or we would be looking at different outcome- still pray
Surgery is over- the OR called desk and attendant just said surgery over and doing well- we don't know yet what they had to do-we were thinking a shunt to drain but don't know yet- please continue to pray and thank you for your prayers
