Val
Chris, do not know how in the world I missed this after you finished it. Must of been something going on around here. So very beautiful and so you. Much love!
Thank you so much Miss Lillian, I appreciate you commenting on this Quilt. It took me a long time, but it's so gorgeous and keeps my room looking lovely. Love Chris
love this and I am in awe of your work . I have a lot of blue in my home as well . I find it calming . I dont think I would have the staying power to complete anything this big . I tend to over think things and then loose myself and get bogged down . Keep up your beautiful work .
Hilda
Thanks so much Hilda. I find blue calming too, and I just have to go outside and look at our sky for that as well. Have a go at something like this it just starts with 1 square at a time! Love Chris
This is beautiful!! Well worth the time and effort.
Wow, Chris, just look at all these stunning comments! I want to add mine also but everything has already been said...let me double up on all! It is true: your quilt is exquisite and a testament to your creativity, talent and patience! Sincere congratulations!!
Kindest regards, Bev
Thanks Bev, I would love to see some more of your excellent work on here. Your contributions to Raelene's quilt were outstanding! Love Chris
You are too kind! I will, I promise. Just juggling a job at the moment...won't be long...
I am speechless. It is STUNNING.!!!!!! Well Done Chris!
Wow! Congratulations, Chris! That quilt is sooo elegant, you have made a work of art. Great job!
Hugs, Lidia
You worked such a long time on this Quilt but its worth every hour. The quilt is spectacular.
So stunning. Definitely a labour of love and well worth the efforts and time devoted to it.
Chris, I was afraid I'd missed the Grand Finale of this project. Magnificent! I know all about those long hours of embroidering and then thread breakage, needles etc. I've been on HoopSisters GooseTracks for more than 7 years. I just can't get motivate except for a block here and there--on the border blocks now. I helped a lady that developed Dementia over those years and been like a one on one tutor to her so that just burned me from even liking the thing. I wanted to say--I really don't know why your pillow wouldn't match somewhat--from the background on your quilt it looks as if you've used the same blue color in places. Motif wise it looks kind of the same general theme also. But again, I am not there to see it up close and personal. I do love it though. You're a champ to continue on with getting it done. Bravo!
Thanks so much Patti. It's been a couple of years in the making and I'm so glad to now have it finished - well almost. I just have to make a label on the back. I've been busy making Pentecost banners and want to get them done first. Pentecost is only a few weeks away! Love Chris
Oh my! You have the patience of Job! I'm so glad you posted your finished project as I've been curious to see it completed. It is a spetacular achievement and should be proud of it. Did you label it on the back? Would you like to share what type of batting you used?
I'm making a label sometime in the next couple of weeks. I used bamboo/cotton batting as I don't like really hot bedding. I was comfortably warm last night. I've only had a sheet on and the quilt that matches the pillow. There is supposed to be a Doona put inside the quilt, but I don't put one inside, so it's just literally 2 pieces of fabric. Love Chris
Thanks for the info! A quilt without any batting is called a "summer quilt' or a 'counterpane" around here, and I actually prefer them to sleep under as they are not so warm.
Oh, I love the pillow too. We just remodeled our master bedroom (and other parts of our house due to a broken pipe while we were out of town!). We painted our bedroom a dark blue, with white trim and I purchased a comforter that is similar to your pillow. As I said below - well done on your beautiful quilt - great stitching - I wish I had your talent! Hugs, Laura
Oh! thanks Laura. Your room sounds gorgeous. Can you send me a picture through the INBOX of your bedroom? I love blue so each room has a blue theme. Love Chris
It's so beautiful !!! it's full of love and patience. I am admiring bravo.
Beautiful Job and the quit is gorgeous . Nice work Chris as usual!!
Spectacular quilt, Chris....You should be very pleased with it! Would love to see the back too, so we could see the quilting that was done by your quilter...
Hi Kim, it's just a rambling design, very plain which I'm happy with as it doesn't detract from all the stitching in the designs on the front. Love Chris
Sew Beautiful! Your will love it for the winter months. You said summer was hot, I hope you don't get the winter we had. 100 miles from us got 9 inches of snow last night and the sun just won't come out and stay. We have had cold weather since Oct. Enjoy your quilt, it is beautiful! Sandy
Hi Sandy, I slept wonderfully last night. I can't believe how warm it is. I'm so pleased I had the bamboo/cotton batting/wadding put in it though. The east coast has had a cold snap come through over the past 2 days and when I woke this morning it was about 10C (50F). Love Chris
I forgot to add the picture of the quilted set that is already on the bed. I have two of these pillows, plus the plain navy ones up against the bed head. If you enlarge the picture you can just see the quilt that matches the pillow under the left hand front end. As I've said before my whole home is in navy, pale blue, deep blue and white.
I've got the prettiest room, Trevor has a plain navy and grey quilt on his bed and the one downstairs has my bear-paw navy blue and white quilt. Love Chris
Stunning work Chris it looks fantastic
An absolute masterpiece. I love it
Thanks so much Vicki. I'll have to post a finished picture to my sister over in Tumby Bay to show her. She's seen some of my lacework and thinks I'm so clever!!!! He he he, I told her it's the digitiser who does all the work, I just have to sew it out. Love Chris
Wow, wow, wow ! Beautiful, I like colours and design, it's simply perfect !Wish I could do things like that !
Thanks so much Marie I appreciate you commenting. I love all the bags you've made. You can do things like this, you just need to find some lovely designs and go for it. Love Chris
Absolutely awesome!! You must be so pleased! This shows such wonderful talent!!! Well done!
Thanks Laura, it was one of those things I'd do a bit of now and then. As I've said previously some of those squares took nearly 3 hours just to sew out. I don't know how many needles I've broken or how much thread I've used either. Some of the heavier stitched squares used a whole bobbin!!!!!!!! Love Chris
Oh my goodness Chris. This quilt turned out absolutely fantastic. You did a awesome job.
Thanks Angie, a couple of years in the making. I was so thrilled with my quilter that I gave her name to Meg so she is using her too. Love Chris
Beautiful. you make me want to try making a quilt too, although I'm not a quilter.
