Toogie, it looks great! You must be pleased after ripping so much out.
Toogie, you made me smile!
Your quilt is amazing, and the brick 'wall' looks so real.
At the end of it all, it's good when we both can look back and smile. I was anxious to take it to the quilter but it may have to be after my Nova Scotia/ Prince Edward Island trip or I won't have spending money!-lol
Girl, your life exhausts me! All I have to do is work an 8 hour day. This is a fabulous quilt. It turned out perfectly as all of your work. Thank you for not making us think it's easy. lol
lol-the first one was and din't have a pattern for either. You'd think the second one would have been easier but those sides gave me the devil. The mortar across sides had to be 1/4 in wider, than the top and bottom, going across. The mortar by the frame had to be wider so it would run even with the top and so I wouldn't have a sliver of brick fabric next to frame. It nearly drove me batty!-lol
Wow! What a week. I'm surprised you are even on your feet at this point. The quilt is amazing and I'm so glad you managed to get it done. I'm saying a prayer that you and Rylan will have a wonderful safe day on Monday and you will both settle into a good routine that keeps him happy and doesn't overtire you.
Thanks Karen, I think the stress of keeping him will be more exhausting than the physical play....maybe I'll sleep through the nights
Nice job, Toogie...I must say though, I don't understand your extremely large name right in the middle of the photo....it makes it difficult to see your lovely work. I understand putting your name on a photo to "protect" it, but usually they are done as a watermark as not to distract from the piece...
I have seen some of our stuff on other sites and pintrest so that is why I did it, so others couldn't claim it.
Thanks!
Great job. It looks really nice. I haven't made a quilt for 2 years. Maybe seeing yours will make me do another one. I have a lady quilt mine.....
Oh I fell in love with piecing the tops, not so much the cutting out-lol- You should make one Dee, we're not getting any younger!-lol
A brilliant looking quilt. I the bricks a printed fabric or did you make each block.. try to get a little rest before Rylan arrives.
The 'bricks' are fabric I cut out and pieced, with the light color 'mortar' in between. I was cutting it close, as I was running out of these colors. I had to go buy the buckskin color, because I did run out of one of the darker browns and couldn't find anymore like it.
Wow! What a lot of work. Well done. Too bad you had to do a lot of unpicking though. Hugs
Work was not as mind boggling, as figuring what size to cut it all out. Ripping was just aggravating, because I was running out of fabric, too.
Toogie this looks great. Reading the making and your life sounds exhausting sooo enjoy the rest when it happens and good luck keeping Rylan quiet
Thanks, sometimes by nightfall my behind is draggin',so to speak, because I am exhausted. Just driving 20 miles one way to rehearsal and then a repeat the next night, for recital, plus the wait was more exhausting than staying home and doing with them. I thought I would try to rest the weekend, but my floors need a good mopping, so that will be my day (hopefully) tomorrow.
I do hope you can fit in a little rest. in between mopping the floors. Hugs
I started vacuuming all the house as soon as SIL picked up the kids about 8:30 pm. Before I finished, my hubby (dear as he is) (SOMETIMES-lol) started mopping the bedrooms. We finished about midnight as my whole house is flooring, no carpet. By the time I bathed and washed & dried my hair, I fell into bed and slept until 9 O'CLOCK this morning! Never sleep like that!
