Here is the seersucker smockfrock on my granddaughter. She just turned three and this is the large size dress. I originally thought it was too short, but the more I look at the photo, the more I like the length. Wouldn't this be cute with white or blue long-legged shorts. My photo is too light, but you can see the essence of the dress.

Beautiful little Lady! You made her such a beautiful dress. Also looks like it would be easy to slip over a swimsuit with the shoulder buttons. I had never seen anything like it that could be done by an embroidery machine.

That a wonderful photo or her in her dress! Does she think it is too short? I like it short! My grandmother made me a crocheted dress when I was little. Every year she would and another row to it to make it longer until my chest got too big. I loved that dress.

She looks so happy with her new dress! Great job!

Thank you. Right after this photo, she she figured out how to unsnap the shoulders and went streaking off through the house!

Beautiful child and dress. Maybe you could add a band, at the bottom of dress to lengthen and a piping where it meets, between the band and dress.

Thank you for those kind words. That's a good idea about lengthening it. I always forget about how good piping looks.

Both are adorable! You could always add a ruffle if you think it is a bit short....

Thanks. I was wondering about eyelet lace, or maybe even an insertion of lace to make it longer.

Thank you. She keeps me on my toes for sure. Her mother (and me too before the gray set in) also has red hair but not as curly. There is nothing like grandma love!

Thank you. It was easy to make. Even making sure the pleats lined up with the stripes was easy.

I think it is just right for a young lady... IF she grows you can add a lace edging or some gathered material ruffle... SO adorable!!

Thank you. She likes to wear dresses to church. I'm planning on making more of these for her. They are so easy.

Looks good to me. If she has a growth spout in height you could always put lace on hemline.

Thanks. Seems like she is always on a growth spurt! Her mom is almost 6' tall, so I'm happy to see her grow taller.

Thanks. She is tall for her age. And I added about a half inch on each side so she'd have wiggle room, but she didn't need it at all.
