Fabulous job and such a great cause .... Thank you for doing this for the organization.....
Thanks! I use a lot of your designs and the women enjoy them a lot. A doctor at the conference got the "cat spring" one.
Kudos to you. You're a wonderful person to support such a great cause. And I like both of the mug rugs
The latte mug gets my vote! Both are adorable. Now I am off to search for the latte design!
i also like more the Latte one, because of the nice colors.
Great job, I see no whiskers; what is your secret; I get stabilizer whiskers or fabric whiskers and have tried my best, but yours don't eve give a hint of them even close up...lol...Please share, I would appreciate so much...I love them both; the Latte seems to be hinting at giving us an out...lol...Fridge one leads me too...Love them both
Pokies are a constant battle for me. I found that that after I have the back stitched on, then do a bean stitch, and trim as close to the stitch as possible. I get out my tweezers and tug at any thread or whatever that dares to stick out. I then do a zig zag stitch, then a second zig zag stitch with greater density, and get out my scissors and tweezers and snip any pokies again. Finally, I do the satin stitch. Getting then density right took a lot of testing. I did not digitize this myself. But I merged different elements from different frames I had.
It also depends on which sewing machine I use. I find my Babylock does best. On my Bernina, I sometimes have to stitch the satin stitches twice.
It took a while to find the right fabric to use as well. I use a fabri called "Target" from Joann's for the top, and any cotton fabric for the back. "Target" is a cotton/poly blend that I starch. It holds up well to the embroidery stitching. You can buy it online too.
I also use wss and wash each rug after finishing it. It did take a lot of trial and error to get this right for what I'm doing. Hopes this helps!
Well done on both.
I am guessing the fridge one might be tricky if the person buying it was either giving it away or using it themselves in the office as to me it suggests being overweight or fat.
I have a "carrots and water" one that has that problem. People laugh, then say "Who'd you give this to?" I hadn't thought of that when I did the design.
Both mug rugs are great. I have to admit that I also like the coffee one best. Thank you for being so kind and donating your proceeds
Heart felt stitch outs - well done! I would have wanted the Latte one also!! Hugs, Laura
