My curve ended Canary brand applique scissors cfidl. You can't really tell from this angle, but the ends curve upwards! Love Chris
I love this. I wanted to make one way back when. Each piece is so perfect,
Thanks Chris, yes, I'm very particular when doing Applique and have fabulous scissors for the cutting of the pieces. It's a Canary brand with up turned ends. Love Chris
really nice Chris. What have you got planned for it? Displayed at your 'ladies lunch', perhaps.
Yes Viciki, it will be displayed at my Ladies lunch in December. I'm hoping to drape it over one of the lounges. Love Chris
I am confused ( so what else is new😉) I thought you changed the sashing to green for one of the girls. Is this the same quilt?
Turned out beautifully Chris, must have been a big job unpicking the sashings!

Actually it was quite easy. I just got one end and ripped and the seams just parted. Thanks for commenting, love Chris
I can see why you are thrilled for she has chosen the stitching well. The quilt looks wonderful and I love all your Santas! Congratulations!!
This is beautiful Chris. I love the fact she did not quilt over the Santa's. Hugs
Hi Shirley, me too. Nicola is a real gem of a quilter. Meg used her on her quilt she posted recently. Love Chris
Chris this is a labour of love and a huge amount of patience on your behalf. Great work
Hi Caroline, well it's been a long time - it's one of those quilts that I'd do once in a while. I even waited for Evy to have more Santas before I finished them. It's been 8 years in the making of it. Of course I didn't do sewing on it for a while. Had other things to do! Love Chris
Oh my! What an heirloom quilt you have made! Your variety in designs is amazing! Did you leave the embroidery stabilizer under the Santas?
Thanks so much for your comments Penny. I always leave stabiliser under my applique. I use a tear away as I don't want them over stiff. They are stiff enough as they are with all the different fabrics on each Santa. Love Chris
Wow, Wow so great, it looks perfect. What a lot of work, it looks like a masterpiece, what is this for a size? A wall hanger, for a bed or for a table? You have made a great job and your quilting lady too. It looks wonderful :-) , hugs Maria
Thanks so much Maria. It is stunning up close. I'll be draping it over one of my couches closer to Christmas. The size is 66 inches x 57 inches ( nearly 168 x 145cm). It's a fairly good size quilt. Love Chris
Your quilting lady did a wonderful job - happy she didn't go through your lovely Santas!! I am certain your daughter will absolutely treasure it! Hugs, Laura
Thanks Laura, I'm happy that she didn't go through my Santas too! I hope Amy likes it, she hasn't seen it finished yet. Love Chris
Wow, this is stunning, Chris!! Will this be for a lap or wall hanging or other décor?
This is mine!! I wrapped it around my legs last night (Saturday) out in my back sewing room watching TV. It's nice and cosy. I'll drape it over one of the lounges throughout December! Love Chris
I really liked it when you changed to green fabric. I love green and red for Christmas. This is beautiful quilted, I would just sit and admire it. Great work.
I have a question. You have not reported on how you winter is going. I have been watching to see what is in store in 3 months. We have had a great summer, hate to see it come to an end. Thanks Sandy
Hi Sandy, thank you for your comments.
We have had quite a cold winter, for us anyway, here on the east coast of Australia, but very little rain. We are still in drought situation and on water restrictions. Our Royal Firefighter Services have started back-burning already as we have so much undergrowth which will light up with just a spark from lightning, matches or barbecues out in the open.
Fortunately we've had glorious days, but temps starting off in the morning about 8-11C.
Spring is only 2 weeks away and you can smell it in the air with all the early bulbs flowering. I've picked 13 dozen Erlicheer Jonquils over the past 2 weeks! I love them, love Chris
