Thank you Carol for posting. I have just taken a photo of my cross stitch Lourie - sorry about my shadow. I have a feeling it might be the same pattern as yours.
I also thought you may like to see my mothers hand embroidery birds. My mother died in 1977 but I will always treasure these pictures.
I am going to try and find a site for you that I think has SA birds.

Thank you a few of the machine embroidery designs were practise sew outs that I just could not throw out
wow i how i wish that i could get my hands on those birds done on a mashine.i love our south african birds. i would love to hear from anyone with a name of any sites that do them. the ones in the picture are wonderful.

that would be wonderful. thank you. i did find a site that did our wild animals but for love or money i dont remember the name of the site. i do remember it had yellow flowers as its frount. and had many of the one we dont see everday.
