Not sure where to ask this, but have any cuties used or have one of the wool pressing mats I've seen so much about lately?

Are we allowed to ask where they are on sale for 50% off? I want one.

Thank you for reminding us that there are still things we want and need. Great idea.

They are very expensive so I experimented and made my own. I was lucky enough to know a lady who collected 100% wool pieces for rug making but is no longer using it. I took about a dozen 15 inch squares, because that is how many i could get under the presser foot of my machine, stacked them up and carefully zigzagged around all 4 sides.
It is not as dense as the commercial ones but does work quite nicely and better than a plain ironing board.

What is a wool pressing mat please?

It is a very dense matt, made of wool that you iron embroideries on. You can iron other things too. The idea with the embroidery is you lay the design face down on the mat and press hard and steam it from the back. This encourages the material to make room for the stitches. Hope this helped.

Also, if you use steam the steam goes through your ironing board but with this pressing mat it doesn't. I read a few reviews on the site I saw them on for 50% off again today as they had run out because of black Friday and now have more so are extending the offer.
I read some of their reviews, but I wanted to hear from cuties.

Thanks for the info as its not something I have heard of in my bit of the UK

I first saw them recently on utube. And then started checking it out. They all seem to say the same thing " they love them!" .
