Wow, double wow!! You are AMAZING!!!! Hugs, Laura
WOW!!! What an awesome task and wonderfully completed. You are inspiring. I need to get back to work on my quilt.
One suggestion....why not embroider your label onto the backing before you layer your quilt. That way it can't be removed and the information will always be with the quilt.
You are a wonder for getting this done so beautifully in such a short amount of tine.
Jane
I often thought of your suggestion, but with a quilt this size I'd probably end up with it crooked, on my 108 inch backing. I don't think anyone will remove it because they all are family and they appreciate it. If it's years from now, I'll be gone and it won't matter to me anyway.-lol-Are you new? If so, Welcome to Cute! I don't recognize your avatar name.
I've been following you for YEARS. but I rarely comment. I LOVE all the wonderful work and pictures everyone show.
If you start quilting on the bottom and work your work up it will be a lot easier to keep the label straight. I know its not important to you, but it is for historic value. Can you imagine in 200 ( or more) years someone saying "My great-great grandmother made this for her son and now I have this quilt." I've seen very old quilts and wondered what the story is behind them....a little bit of knowledge is better than none.
Love this site. Thanks.
Each one is fantastic and wonderful. I love they all gave a matching theme! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thank you Christine. I gave one of them Saturday and he loved it! Sadly he had to leave this Christmas Eve to go overseas to work.....
You sound like me a few years back. Now I seldom make a quilt but still have big ideas lol Love every one u have done Merry Christmas
Thank you Carolyn. I already have one to start when Christmas is over. Merry Christmas to you and John!
Wonderful job on all of these Toogie...I especially love the look of the "window" that you have created within the panel...your men will be warm and happy this Christmas!
All are wonderful! Now you take a break! But only a short break because I am sure you will be doing another amazing quilt.
Yes, I have one to make for my oldest grand daughter. She sent me a picture of one she liked. Maybe I can get it done for her March birthday. Thanks for looking!
Simply, WOW!!! Toogie, you truly are an overachiever! And, that is why I don't quilt, cause I would be gagging after the first block...……..lol. I just can't stand the repetition. Having said that I am truly in awe of all that you and Chris do.
lol-I thought I would never get that big King made, for my son. It seemed like the more blocks I made the more I needed to make-lol-I should have done a disappearing 9 Patch so it would have gone faster on that size quilt. But no, I opted for a 2 1/2 inch x 4 1/2 inch rectangle to make all those colorful patches! Then turned around and made a smaller one for our son-in-law!
They are all lovely. The men will all be very happy-should be the best present they get this year. Hugs. Nan
Thank you Nan, I hope they like what I have done with them. Even though the panels are the same, I didn't want to make the quilts all alike.
Toogie, they are really beautiful, well done, hugs from Maureen
Amazing! I don't know how you do it, but know they will be loved. Now take your well deserved rest.
I need to rest, believe it or not.-lol- When I said I really don't care if a tree is put up, they thought I had lost my mind.-lol-Thanks for looking and have a Merry Christmas!
Totally amazing work Toogie. I just marvel at the amount of work that you have achieved in a short time. Hopefully you are able to enjoy a rest this weekend?
Yes, a forced rest. I have a party this week with my QOV sewing group. We are suppose to bring a gift we made. I haven't made anything lately, but I do have things made already, if I am able to go. I just have to decide 'what' to bring. A dirty Santa game will be played. Thanks for looking-Toogie
Toogie you sure have been busy. I am tired just reading and looking at your beautiful quilts. I am sure they will all be treasured by those who receive them. Hugs.
Oh now Shirley, don't you get burnt out too!-lol-I know the guys will appreciate them because it's something they wanted....my oldest grandson sent me a picture of something I made him as a child. He still had it. Made me feel good to know he kept it all these years. Thanks for looking Shirley. Hugs Toogie
Thank You for showing us. They all are Beautiful and sew special to each person. Big job but now you can relax be proud of what you have done. Congratulations! Sandy
My goal is to make them all a quilt, kinda my 'bucket list'. I won't get started on the ladies/girls till next year though. Thank you for commenting and having a look.
OUTSTANDING WORK TOOGIE! You have been so busy with all of these and they will be cherished down the generations. Can you now have a rest and recuperate? Have a blessed Christmas with all your extended family. Love and blessings Chris
Thank you Chris, but no time for rest, you should know that. It's a busy season. Ashley did offer to come decorate for me, so I may take her up on it, IF she has a free day.-lol
