Hi Cuties, we had some sad news at church on Sunday. One of our Mainly Music family's (MM is a group of kids from babies to nearly school age children who get together and have fun with music and playing etc) little girl Josephine, died on Saturday. She was only 4. Our church family was shocked, we all knew she was ill with an incurable brain cancer, but it's still a shock when you hear it.

It's heartbreaking, as Josephine's dad is Dr Mat Dun a Medical Doctor in Cancer Researcher and has a PHD and was trying desperately to find a cure for the disease that Josie had.
Josephine had "Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG) they are highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumors found at the base of the brain. They are glial tumors, meaning they arise from the brain's glial tissue—tissue made up of cells that help support and protect the brain's neurons."
Josephine's mother Dr Phoebe Hindley (maiden name) is one of our local Doctor's too and has her practice just at my local Jewells shopping centre. Dr Phoebe is only 34. Phoebe has 2 other little children. I've just been reading up on the disease and all about Mat Dun and his fight for a cure. Apparently there are 19 other Australian children fighting this fatal disease.
Your famous astronaut Neil Armstrong's daughter had the same disease.
This afternoon after buying a beautiful set of FSL wings I sewed them out and will take them down to my Doctor's surgery tomorrow and leave them for Phoebe whenever she returns. I hope she likes them, love Chris

Hi Jerrilyn, thank you and I've been thinking of them today, it's been over 40C here in Newcastle today. Ghastly smoke everywhere - again! We are all praying for rain, and at last a cool change is coming through. Love Chris

They are beautiful! So heartbreaking to lose a child. The parents must feel so helpless, with all their knowledge, and not be able to save their own child or others, with this dreadful disease. My heart goes out to the family and friends.

A beautiful tribute to a dear little girl. We lost our sweet niece at 6 years old. She was also ill. She is in my heart and will always be there. There is nothing in this world like loosing a child. Absolutely nothing. Prayers for her dear family and friends. Your angel wings are perfect. Hugs, Laura

Laura when I was 6, I lost my best school friend, Julie. Although I have always had a terrible memory, the memory of Julie will remain in my heart and mind, always....I seem to forget what she looked like and that her older brother died too that day, but it’s her ‘presence’ if that makes sense, that I remember. She was my friend.

Such a sad thing to happen to any child. Maybe someday your doctor will find a cure for this disease. I know there is no pain deeper than losing a child. My heart and prayers go out to precious Josephine and her family. The angel wings are perfect for them and it is so kind of you to make them for the grieving family. Love, Suzanna

Thanks Marian, the wings are exquisite. Our whole community is so saddened by this tragedy. Dr Phoebe's father Dr Chris Hindley started the surgery here in Jewells over 30 years ago. When he retired Phoebe took over the practice (it's a big practice, there are 8 doctors there) Our daughter Dana went to school with Chris's 2nd daughter and she is a Veterinarian. Love Chris
