I am so sad. None of my girls (3) liked dolls and so far no granddaughters do either. I loved playing with them when I was little!
They are ALL so adorable! You are not supposed to have that much fun in one day, even with a trip to ER. I especially like the ties in the back of the hospital gown! Makes me want to sew for a doll.
My six-year-old granddaughter doesn't like dolls. :-(. But she does like to make quilts!
Jan my oldest daughter never like to play dolls but my youngest made up for it. The oldest ones dolls always looked new and you could tell who the other dolls were for-lol Ashley carried 'Ann' around with her arm around Ann and holding Ann's arm. She had the arm on that side hanging but Ann was her favorite doll.
Make some and give to a little girl at church. You both will feel great and she will be so surprised!
Thanks for looking. Hope you and hubby are well.
Toogie...great job...and I am sure Nora will get hours of fun dressing her dolls!
Gosh Toogie you are having fun. Great story and super clothes. My daughter wears blue scrubs in the hospital theatre …
I do have a blue one made now, too I'll show with some more I am still making. My daughter wore blue scrubs at one clinic and lavender in another.....I guess I will have to stop sewing for them when Nora comes and takes her girls home. I know they are going to miss me (lol) and I do hope Nora has as much fun with them as I've had.
Well done. You will have one very happy little girl. Hugs
Thank you Shirley. That's what you can do when you have a sewing room to play in. I do dread cleaning it up afterward....sigh
Wow, love them all! You are good, Toogie and Nora will be thrilled!
Hugs, Lidia
Gorgeous. That will add hours of play! I just found a doll of one of my daughters that is dressed in atop and nothing else. She's calling Dress me! A call I can't ignore :).
Oh good, now you can play too! I wish I had my old doll. Her hair was kinda long and I remember brushing it a lot. She was in a pink thick flannel bunting with a hood and it zipped up the front. I think it had a ribbon strap that was somewhere by the shoulders, maybe, that you could carry her by. I don't remember if she had a name, probably not....
So well done. I started to sew and knit because my younger sister got a Barbie. She is 5 years younger tan me. I was 10-11 years and made a lot of clouths for her Barbie.Still some left even if it is more tan 50 years ago they was made.
Some happy girl is going to play a lot.
Thank goodness your sis got a Barbie. Now you have skills for life. I have some of my daughter Ashley's Barbie clothes here and she is now almost 39. She took some home to Nora. My mom was handicap from a car accident and she made some of the Barbie things. Some were crochet and some sewn. Thanks for looking and commenting Anita.
These are great. Makes me think I need to make more clothes for granddaughter, Vivian's dolls - lol ... I am neglecting her!! Great job!!
Don't feel bad, just get busy! (or busier) You can have fun too!
Thanks for looking!
Well, I thought you had flipped and gone over the edge, till I remembered your daughter had surgery this week and probably had one of those special gowns with the seat cover view. Good job again and you have given Nora a chance to practice out her stories about hospitals and doctors and patients.
Nora hasn't seen them yet. By the time she comes, I may have more. Not getting any quilts done this week-lol
Too cute! I have all kinds of doll patterns, but I haven't made a one. Sewing all of that tiny stuff just makes me cringe. Yours are all so cute! Guess I ought to make myself before the GDs outgrow dolls. LOL
Just look at it this way and you will be glad to sew them...they are not as small as Barbies!-lol-It's just like sewing for real people, only smaller...
It helps a lot if you sew things flat as much as possible. So add the sleeves and any embellishments before stitching the side and sleeve seams.
