On the back of toy and wall quilts, I cut the backing in half and join part ways with small running stitch change to large stitch for part of the way, then back to small, press the seam both edges to the side, stipple each side not catching in the seam , then stitch all around the quilt front and back cut the loose stitching and turn,fabric glue the opening, on wall quilts I usually put the seam near to the top, under a pocket to hang with dowling wood....wendy
