Welcome this is a wonderful site. I have Janome 500e and embird.
Hello Welcome ! Glad to see you joining this nice group of people !
Greetings from Belgium
Hi are you able to let us know that you have seen the replies
I use Embird too and love it. Did the store you bought it from have software?
You don't need the Customizer to use the machine or to get designs onto the chip.
The 300E was sold either with or with out the CD and I know it was pretty expensive to buy.
Embird is a much better option as you can do more with it.
You don't say what country you are in.

Hi Hazel, and big welcome to Cute. I see there are several suggestions below regarding software. If you are talking specifically about the Janome Customizer software, you probably would need to get that from a Janome dealer. I am not even sure if it is still available. However, I don't think you are limited to just use Customizer software and there are many that might be better depending upon what you are needing to do with it. Let us know more about your needs so we can better help you answer questions.
welcome on Cute,. crafter gave you an answer about the software. I bought my software at the dealer of embroidery machines.
Hope you love it here on Cute as much as most of us do, and you will get used to navigate through the site. greetings Gerry
Hi Hazel, just wanted to welcome you to Cute. I hope some of the information below is of help. I, like "graceandham" would also suggest seeing the people you bought the machine from to see if they can recommend a programme. Love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
Welcome.....I know you will love this group. A lot of helpful members here!
Welcome to Cute
It depends on what you are looking for. If you plan on digitizing your own designs then I would recommend Embird.
If you only want something to be able to see the design on your computer and make small changes then there are some free ones (see link). Please let us know what you want from the software
.
Hi and welcome. I have no idea where abouts you are but from first hand experience... I have Brother machines and automatically bought PE Design which is Brother. Seemed a logical move. I knew nothing about digitising at that point. Reading here the name Embird kept appearing. My software requires a dongle attached to my laptop to make it work. Every now and then if you wish to keep upto date the cost isn't cheap. I am presuming that Janome is the same. I am very seriously considering getting Embird so I don't have the dongle getting in the way and I think that it is going to be cheaper in the long run. Those who digitise a lot here speak highly about Embird, and some have more than one software package. There are other digitising packages about. I think that it would be worth posting another question asking what people use and why they prefer their choice. Machine embroidery is great fun and highly addictive so hope to see more of you here. asterixsew in the UK
Welcome to Cute Embroidery. Google "Janome" (with an a) or if you bought your machine through a dealer, they can sell the software to you.
