There has been 76 deaths Australia wide & over 20 of those were from the Ruby Princess.Only 8 cases in our postcode area.
It is a lovely warm day here ,& it feels like we are back in the 80's ,very peaceful with little noise & traffic.
After the floods in February ,it rained 2 or 3 times a week & everything took off after the drought. You can watch the grass is grow & the lawn mowers come out of hibernation in force.Plants are flowering out of season.
Hi, Jan, We are fine. We headed to Florida late January - because of a death in the family (not related to Covid19). We have been here every since. We are lucky that my father-in-law has a little beach house that we have been living in. His main home is 2 hours away so we don't see him. But, we are across the street from the ocean and west of us is a huge park with wonderful walkways and a dog park. Walking on the beach is allowed - but no sunbathing. Plus, I do have an embroidery machine with me (I figured we would be here for a month) but, here it is last week of April and we are still here. My dear hubby has major heart issues so we have to be very careful. Not certain when we will head back home to Michigan. We miss home but are thankful for the Florida sunshine and the walks we can make. Take good care!! Laura
My family and I are ok as is jrob and hers. I heard from her yesterday.
We have 43 cases in our county, almost 25,000 positive Statewide and over 1400 death in the state. I don’t say what state I am in because I post grand kids pictures and there may be predators looking/ lurking. Suffice to say, too many cases/deaths. We are staying in but our families are still working, being exposed to other people......one son-in-law still out of the country overseas, so naturally we are concerned about him. Glad you are ok
As with others, here in Michigan, we are in lockdown also. Only "essential" businesses are allowed to be open unless able to work from home. Statewide, we are starting to see infected numbers come down, however the county that I live in still has rising numbers. My husband keeps saying there is going to be a new normal when this is all over. It will be interesting to see what happens. Many families are struggling despite all the programs in place. The dry cleaners that I do repairs for, said that they might not make it. My heart goes out to all the small businesses. Stay safe cuties. hugs to all.
I'm in Southern California too with a low infection rates in my county. Not at all like LA. But we are still required to stay home. I have a new puppy too who really keeps me busy. Unfortunately, she isn't getting the puppy "socialization" that is so crucial in a young dog as her puppy play group and agility time have all been canceled so I don't see my doggy friends either. However, it is ok to take dogs out for walks so that is what i do. I have three corgis now and the two youngest each get their own one mile walk. The senior one goes five houses one way and five houses home. That's it for my exercise! It's interesting to me to see all the men outside biking with their kids, pushing strollers, or doing other activities with their children. Never see that even on weekends! We live very close to the ocean, so there is always a nice breeze and everyone wears a mask in stores which has been required by my city. Someone stands outside the store entrance and checks to make sure you have a mask on before you can go in. One store sprays the shopping cart's handle and your hands if you want before you go in too!
My husband is 91 now, so I worry about him. We've been married for 46 years now and he is 18 years older than me. If he gets sick with this virus, I don't think he could survive it. So, I worry about that.
Well here in sunny California a lock down is in affect. Living in the suburb it isn't too bad, since we can go for walks which I do with my new puppy. I am under strict orders from my daughter not to go grocery shopping. How times have changed. I used to be in charge ha, ha. They do the shopping for me, but it just isn't the same. Actually I save a lot of money that way since I can not be tempted by goodies in the isles. I miss the weekly dinner with the family. Daughter (nurse) and son in law works for the VA and has patient contacts, thinks it would be too dangerous for me. Being old and having COPD she thinks it would be to risky.
The puppy keeps me very busy and helps with the digging in the yard.😊.I have sewn over 100 masks and the new stack is on my kitchen counter. I consider myself lucky when I think what it might be like being locked up in apartment in a big city. I wonder if my car will starrt once I get to use it again.
I am in NW Florida where the numbers are low. Most of us had voluntarily limited our trips outside our homes to necessities before it became publicized to do so. My husband has been active, along with others, to assist the local mayor to develop ways to feed our people who have no money coming in. Our homeless and seniors are already taken care of but our hearts and efforts have turned to those with no safety net. And no, we are not hoarding toilet paper. hehe We are having no problems staying busy, getting projects done including finishing the renovation and stocking of a 20 year old 5th wheel we bought before the quarantine. I join with you in hope and prayers that all of our Cuties and their families and friends remain healthy in the months to come. I know it will be a different world once this virus is under control and the world wide quarantine is lifted. We are living in a new, scary but interesting time of history.
We are fine Jan, I'm sewing lots of backpacks for our 8 grandchildren and will make a beautiful Poppy design for our Anzac Day which is this Saturday and hang it in the window. We have all been asked to stand in our driveways, or on our front porch or anywhere we can to celebrate our most celebrated national holiday at 6.00am. Some people who can play the trumpet will do so at that time. Thinking of and praying for all of you guys in your part of the world, keep safe and well.
My Priest has organised Morning prayer at 10.00am and at 1.00pm for those who want, can do a Bible study on Romans via Zoom. Trev is staying home with me and working via his computer and his students are sending all their assessments etc. to him. He is still working and has some face to face work for the next few weeks with social distancing being done of course. Life is certainly different. We facetime with the grand kids regularly and we are very fortunate in that they all live close-by. Love Chris
We have stay at home orders in PA. I still am keeping 4 grands because their parents are "essential" workers, as is my husband. It can by trying and stressful. Trying to do some school lessons with them but it can be hard to accomplish. The 15 yr does hers as does the 10 yr old, but the kindergarten and preschooler need help. Not finding extra time to do sewing, quilting or longarming at this time. It would be great to have some nice weather beyond one day so they could roam around outside. I guess the great part is, we live on a farm so they have space to play but farm work does continue on also. Take care and stay safe......prayers for all!
Hi Jan. Like you we in the UK are in lockdown. Children are being educated from work set by schools but at home, parents who work are mainly working from home and key workers are very very busy and we have so much to thank them for.
My elder daughter is now recovered and back at work nursing and my other son in law is having to put crazy hours in due to affected colleagues.
Difficult times and were all adapting in the ways we can. Take care and safe.
