Wasn't there a show titled "Kids Say The Funniest Things"? Sounds like you had fun!
Smart girl. Makes perfect sense. I love the way children think.
Once my twins were getting new beds and one stated she loved her "Jack Size Bed".???????? Made perfect sense. As parents we had a "King Size" and their older sister had a "Queen Size". See the logic?
Of course it makes perfect sense, her family played cards a lot. She knew her cards.-lol
We used to play cards with my DH's oldest brother and his wife. When Ashley was little and we played Rook, Quince would get her to go around and look to see who had 'the bird card' and tell him! He often tried to cheat!
Mrs Lillian we haven’t played in so long, I wouldn’t remember how to bid. My sister in law has passed on and they were the ones we played with. BIL is 92 now but would still play if we had a fourth!
Nora is definitely a fun and smart little girl.. You will have to look for those "Pickle Seeds" next year to plant. I love the idea of a quilt for her with all of her wonderful sayings. We are so fortunate to be in an area with very low numbers of covid, but we are also getting outside in the warmth and sunlight which helps to kill this virus. So keep working on those projects. I still have lots of projects I haven't touched yet.
Nora is a joy! She will be seven soon. I had plans for my dh to make her a doll bed or crib and I would make her a tiny block quilt for it. I wanted him to make it last Christmas but her birthday is in July so my daughter said make it when it warms up and for her birthday. About a month ago his table saw burnt up😳 so now she won’t get her bed.
Toogie I really enjoy reading about what you have been up to. I have only visited my largest shop twice over the past months. The shop has been brilliant at sorting out a one way system for shoppers to use but its unfortunate that there are those who ignore and seem not to bother with social distancing.
Caroline, when we talk about going grocery shopping I told my husband I almost want to have a panic attack! As long as I'm home I feel fine:)
One thing good about getting a once a month check for the last forty something years is, you buy for a month at a time. So I usually have a stock of monthly groceries and supplies and can stretch it further, if need be.
I learned early on to manage quiet well, not patting myself on the back, just stating a fact. My sister has said before, if my husband had been employed, with a higher paying job, he would be a millionaire today because of his 'manager' (me). (He probably wished he was a millionaire-lol) Not me. I have had a good life. Surely not the finest things, but what I needed and mostly what I wanted.
When we first married over 51 years ago, I told him one thing I did want. I wanted him home every night and if that meant low pay, I would manage. I told him my dad worked away all my life and I didn't really know him. I wanted my kids to have their dad home and really know and love him and they do.
You said " I really enjoy reading about what you have been up to" . SO.o.o ...you think if I get myself in a 'pickle' you don't want to miss it!-lol-lol-just kidding you
Aren't our Grandkid's great!!! My hubby and I are trying to be careful - I am happy you are too!!!
Laura, my son-in-law Grayson thinks we are over protective or over reacting and has made fun of us. Our daughter Ashley made a remark because we are living different, "well mamma's not gonna get corona". I could but wouldn't tell her, if I do, it may be because they bring it to me. We are not visiting ANYBODY. We are not going shopping every week. We don't mind staying home. So far, we like each other-lol- we stay busy with yard and garden work or we relax watching old Andy Griffith shows, Gunsmoke or I play solitaire while HE watches. I sew, quilt, embroider, read, text, cook so I don't have time to shop & visit!-lol- Really most young people just like going and don't know how to entertain themselves at home. Glad y'all are still cautious.
Oh my, your life sounds like ours right now. Andy, Gunsmoke, gardening (except our tomatoes got blight), sewing - I'm about to finish a quilt I promised by March - before corona curtailed my fabric shopping. And livestream church and Zoom Sunday School. We did go to the lake for a week with kids and grands, but we all stayed in or on the boat the whole time. Ordered pizza one time and cooked every other meal!
I know I miss eating out, especially going to eat fried catfish. Our son brought us some fresh fish a few weeks ago. We fried some, made a couvillion ( fish gravy) and froze the rest in water.
That planting pickles thing will have to be a quilt square for Nora.
