That is a long time to be without. I do not think I could go a day, even though I really do not need it absolutely. Lol! It is nice to check in though. I think it is almost as bad as being with out a car, which I recently experienced.
I agree, I miss some of the things from the old days. But then I am not very computer literate. I'm glad you are up and running again though.
Ha, ha. My phone book (old one) is being used to dry flowers between the pages. Google search has served me well finding service companies and then I check them out on YELP. Actually Yelp was extremely helpful not too long ago. My refrigerator went on the blink and everything in the freezer was melting. As usually when something goes "kaputt" it happened over a long weekend. Yelp asked if I would like quotes and I was amazed how they poured in. Most of them I could already eliminate because the earliest they had available was too far down the line. Some too expensive etc. Had my refrigerator fixed the same day. Nice thing about the quotes that yelp forwards them. Companies do not have any info on you.
I remember when they were used for toilet paper! The yellow pages were the best to use.
I miss the phone book and yellow pages as well, and try to use mine that are six years old! Sometimes, the number has changed, surprise. Talk to your neighbors and try to get recommendations. I look to older neighbors, as they are budget conscious! Also, ask a realtor, they are excellent resources for people to work on your house and yard.
Glad your up and running again and fingers crossed they stay working.
