You are an amazing woman Toogie and seem to have a awesome family. As others expressed, it was so good to hear a heartwarming story when all are surrounded by so much disaster.
Shelby is suppose to come down and see the kids and help with them today. He will have to go home tomorrow, I am sure, to run the generators. My daughter and family are still with us, but she heard this morning that the crews are getting closer to her house, so maybe her electricity will be on soon. She unloaded her freezer Sunday and her brother was able to get it all into one of his, so at least she was able to save that.
I know your mama heart is swelled with pride at what beautiful adults you have. Train up a child.........
Thanking God for such an inspiring, positive story during this less than positive story we are all living at this time! You truly have an amazing family and you should be and are proud of them. Praying for God's blessings while you all work through this awful clean up.
Millie.
They didn’t get it all cleaned up, but they did get a lot done. The heat was so overwhelming that they had to stop this afternoon early. Heat index was 110 and high humidity. They tried to stay hydrated but these are 45-55 year olds and say they can’t take this kind of heat, like they used to.
Toogie your family are what you have made them and the values that they follow and how they act are what you brought them up with. Keep being a proud mother
Thank you, it’s easy to be proud when they show love and compassion for their fellowman. Someone told me once, she wished her kids loved each other like mine do. I thought about it because her kids have always been jealous of one another and never close
So glad all is coming together, I know what it is like when families work together, love is the common denominator, not just for each but for everyone. Sometimes you sit back and are amazed at how God works and can only say Thank You! Love you Toogie!
I know your family is the same way, helping one another is what He wants us to do. ❤️Toogie
And so many would call all of thee steps to helping out Sam simply coincidences. I call each one miracles. I'm so glad all worked together to make life easier for Sam. And prayers for the safety of all.
I think like you Karen. When Ashley was looking for a van with a conversion like this the conversation cost the same as the new van.😳😩But they have been searching for a year or more and they finally found this one at a good price too from an estate. The guy that owned it passed away and family/estate just wanted to get rid of. They thought it would be hard to sell because of the conversion but I don’t think they realized the need or the value. It was still a lot, I think a little more than a new van but almost like getting the conversion free.
The van they had before served them at the time. Avery was light enough when they first got it but as she got heavier they realized they needed something she could stay in her chair and ride. Like you and I know, God fills our need.
Wow I have goosebumps from your story. Prayers of thanksgiving for Ashley and her family. Hugs. Nan
Thank you they pulled out at 4:30 this morning. They plan to work until dark. I have Gus & Nora. Mason went with them. Nora and I just made a cake and I will start supper later so it will be ready when they get back.
How proud you must be of your loving and giving family, like you they are happy to give anyone in need a helping hand.
I am just so glad God uses us where needed and as long as we are able. Like He says, we all are given talents. Mine today is baby sitting, cooking and washing their clothes that have piled up since electricity is out. Theirs is Manuel labor to help Shelby.
You have some awesome kids!!!!!
I think so too Angie and our son and Shelby really can figure out and work on just about anything. Really have a good sense of ‘ know how’. My husband was always like that too. There are some people that have to hire everything done. Not because their bodies aren’t able but because they just don’t know or can’t figure things out.
It's the little things that matter. Most of us don't even think about the convenience of a shower. Give Ashley a hug from me.
I sure will. I guess Sheila didn’t think Sam could go to Ashley’s because her electricity was out and they are staying here. She knew Avery had a Handicap shower. Ashley did say you could tell Sam sure appreciated all the effort made for him and he also expressed his thanks.
Two of my grandsons are the same age as Sam, I think about 24 and one is a couple years older. I remember when Sam could still walk and play baseball in my front land. Sam would hit and the boys would run for him if he couldn’t. They always treated Sam so good.
