Thank you for your comments and ideas.... Yesterday went to Hobby Lobby and bought different felts... very soft... semi soft ..and stiff I will see which one is the best. Where I live craft stores are very limited I love Jo Ann but i will have to travel to another town...
I think the felt will take the embroidery with no trouble. Are you able to stiffen the felt for the horn so it will stand up nicely? I hope you will post a picture when you finish it.
I have made many masks for Halloween over the years. I usually use soft felt for the front and soft felt for the back. I use tearaway for the stabilizer. If the mask is black, I have used a black fabric or permanent marker around the edges so any remaining stabilizer looks dark like the mask. Hope that makes sense. I will see if I can find a picture of some masks I have made. The hardest part is cutting out the eye holes - I have a few hints on how to do that! My husband uses a sleep mask made out of soft felt every night and it doesn't bother him at all. Good luck!! Hugs, Laura
As an adult, I would not want felt next to my skin--both scratchy and hot! Can you line the felt with a soft cotton by either stitching or gluing?
Felt is usually made of wool. I can't imagine that feeling okay against a face! How about fleece?
Out of interest is the mask for fun or not?”
