Christmas traditions are wonderful as they are carried down through generations! I remember seeing orange cloves a very long time ago, so seeing one refreshed a memory even though it was not a part of our traditions. I enjoy seeing your pictures!
Thank you for sharing the Swedish tradition. I have never heard of the clove orange, I am going to make one. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Wonderful picture and sharing of traditions. I learned something new. I did not know that at a hyacinth would bloom around this time of year. I know of the Christmas cactus, which is starting to form blooms in my house.
I enjoying hearing about holiday traditions from all over the world!! The Advent Star is beautiful!! Hugs, Laura
What a beautiful star. Your clove orange reminds me of making them in kindergarten and bringing one home to my mother. She was so thrilled. She put it in her closet to make her clothes smell delicious.
I have seen the oranges with the cloves when I was younger, but I did not realize why. So this was their air freshener, how interesting. Is your advent star in the window something you made? It really shows up and is very pretty. Thanks for sharing another story of your life.
I love learning about the traditions in different countries. It makes the world such a rich and diverse place. Thanks for sharing these beautiful traditions with us.
