I try to stitch something different daily. My problem who is is getting these things lol
To be honest. Some have become favorites, but have to many that i never use
I too have used far too few of the many designs I have whether free or not. I get inspired when I see them, and know just what I want to do with some of them and then I can never get around to it and all to soon, the idea is forgotten and the inspiration is lost.
Not many. Of all the fonts collected, I have used three. When saving a design, included in the name is free or paid.
I don't stitch them out very often. I find I don't collect as many as I use too either - I have become "fussy" as to which ones interest me. I do however, buy more designs than I use to. I want to scale back in purchasing designs. I see something that I think would be perfect, buy it and then get sidetracked. I hope to make use of the designs I have right now. I should take some time and "weed" through the design and delete the ones I know I will never use! Great question!
Not as many as I like. I have become more selective in collecting because of having so many that aren't used.
I think I became a compulsive collector.
Nothing wrong with that! A lot of people collect designs...especially me too!
GOOD question!!! Now that this stuff has hit us I've made two quilt labels.
Can't get motivated. How many more like me???
For me to get motivated, I call a friend that sews and embroiders, this helps. Right now I am embroidering angels,
I also embroider out a lot of the saying from this sight with the designs-they make great little pillows to give away.
Not sure.. I do use some of them.. and sometimes I notice I keep on selecting the same ones... they became my favorites ones..
Like the super nice swanfont from cute...
Hehehe.... very few. Many designs look good when you see them on your monitor but when you examine them in your software or in your stitchout, you realise that they are rubbish just to attract you. So I stick to those digitisers that offer good quality designs (some are great digitisers) and forget the others.
Overall, I think that the quality of the designs has improved dramatically over the years. The digitisers who have been offering designs for many years have improved their skills a lot and should delete the oldest designs in their websites because of their poor digitising of that time. It happened to me to buy their oldest designs and they were a big disappointment, while the newest were wonderful. With today's standards, I don't accept to lose my time and my money buying rubbish (by today's standard). Hugs, Lidia
This question could be posed to purchased designs as well as freebies. On numerous occasions, I have purchased an entire design set with the knowledge that only one or two designs would be really useful at the time of purchase. (I do NOT share the true cost of my embroidery addiction with my supportive husband.)
I agree. I always check Embroidery Home as they sell just one the designs in a set and they have designs from digitizers that I use a lot. I'm hiding my addiction too...
Sometimes I collect a freebie just because they are so beautiful. Other times, I just add it to my stash...like if it is a dog design that I like, I tuck it away for future use. Like I had a cat design from Baskecase that I dug out to use that I had for 8 years before I used it. If I have enough room on my computer, I see no reason to skip a freebie if I like it.
That is a toughie. At the very beginning of my embroidery adventure 13 years ago I was busy collecting freebies. I am so over it and now as I organize my files again I am deleting a lot. Have I used any? I am not sure since I did not note the designer in the earlier times. I know that years ago i have had some real disasters. Not any more since I know where I purchased it from or the reputable site it came from even if it was a freebie.
I have to admit, I haven't stitched out near as many as I collect. So many of them are so poorly digitized. So I stick to those from good sites like Cute and Basketkase and definitely avoid any from websites that look like they are poorly digitized.
