I lost some very colorful fabric that was chosen by my son when he was about 7 or 8 (he's 39 now!). Unfortunately, I didn't use the fabric right away and he outgrew the intended pattern. Of course, I kept the fabric. Over the years, I used this fabric for various small craft projects (including luggage tags which came in useful due to their unique color when our bags got left behind on an international trip) and would use it to make draw-string bags to hold small gifts for his birthday or Christmas. He always referred to the fabric as the "pants he never got." When Covid hit, I looked high and low for this aging fabric to use in a mask for him--but it was no where to be found. Eventually, it was discovered folded up with another larger fabric piece. Another big laugh when his Covid mask was finally delivered.
I "lost" a package of 12 bobbins. I have no clue where they are hiding. I'm waiting to "find" them.
Barbie patterns found late last night-Updated my post
I misplaced my external floppy drive to use floppy in my sewing machine. Have looked and looked-oh well
Hope that it turns up soon but you have reminded me that I am not sure where mine is
Oh dear, I am going to sound so goody, goody. Our house is fairly small and I have no sewing room as such. I have to be terribly tidy and put things away. DH is not allowed any where near my sewing things. So I usually know where things are. Yesterday DH lost some keys and last night they were found in the washing machine. I had put on some laundry when we arrived home after a short holiday.......
Dis they work after the wash? You know to open the car doors or trunk with a click of the key?
I've managed to was the same memory stick twice that I use to bring my designs to the machine. Amazing, it still works just fine. I just tell myself my designs are very clean.
I've lost a summer blouse sewing pattern. Which I used some time ago, have put it in a safe place, but yet to remember where that is. The material I have will have to stay in my storage box until I find it. I've missed many things and then found them when I am no longer looking for them. Hugs Maureen
I have lost my cutting ruler, the one I use for cutting paper. Just hope I can find it before I need to cut any paper. We had a new Double Glazed window put in the sewing room so things got put away here there and every where. I am confident it will turn up in some strange place when I am not looking for it. Hugs
That is usually the way that when your not expecting the lost item re appears. I hope your cutting ruler appears sooner rather than later
When my husband can't find something, he ask me where it is. Duh!
I wasn't the one had it, nor was I the one put it where he can't seem to find it. However, I am the one to blame or to resurrect this lost item...Excuse me!-lol
Going back to my patterns. I have about 6 Xerox boxes of bought patterns. The pattern envelopes fit well, in two rows there. However, the Barbie patterns are all made from school writing paper and are in a clear sleeve, like you get 50 sheets of paper in. I know it's not a sophisticated folder or container, but I can get a lot of these little pattern pieces, in a free leftover sleeve-lol-
I always kept them in a Wolverine boot box, another free container. They are not there. Hubby says," You didn't always keep them there or they'd be there now". Now this is coming from the man I spoke of earlier. (Roll my eyes while biting tongue)
I have a LOT of sewing paraphernalia. I am usually good knowing just where to locate something. Percentage wise, I'm darn good. Right now though, I don't have time to research my steps. Nor do I want to because that would take me back years, as I don't remember the last time I made any Barbie items. My minds not up to the challenge. I rather play with frogs!
Sigh. I really hope Dennis can't read this. Yes, I cannot find a pair of my scissors. Honest!
Dear Dennis and the scissor saga... Every time I buy new ones I remember him. Very sorry but I dont have your scissors
Dennis has been reduced to the Guardian Angel of my Scissors collection. Miss his wit.
Ketchup. I could not find the bottle of ketchup in my pantry, so I bought one. I forgot that I had replaced it and bought another one on the next shopping trip. I now have 5. I am not sure how they multiplied. Daughter will have to take at least one of them. Not sewing related, but memory issue
Gosh you sound like my husband with more than one of a sauce on the go. Isnt it useful having family near by to pass the surplus on to
