Yes I got the email,I thought their prices would be like Urbane Threads prices which very depending on their size.I came across a embroidery site which offers a choice of tipping prices to add to your final bill.
I saw that choice too on a different site. I was getting a freebie and tried to leave a tip, but my tip was not accepted due to design being free. I will leave a tip when I order from them.
I just re-read the email, and I think many missed the part that said 'some' of the $1.39 designs would be more than the $1.39 and 'some' would be LESS depending on size...Also I've gotten many FREE designs from their Christmas club and even the birthday club discounts, and other 'deals'...and yes, I'm pleased with my purchases too. There are a lot of places that sell designs for a whole lot more!
I totally agree. To me it sounded utterly reasonable to make a distinction between designs based on complexity. Non-digitisers usually have no clue about the time involved. Freebies and low introduction prices won't pay the bills.
Hi Suzanna, Well, I just paid for my Cute Embroidery - full membership! Love Chris
I used to buy from them every week before it changed hands but very rare do I buy from them now. They have a lot of repeat sales and nothing much that excites me.
As for paying a bit more I think it is reasonable as they stated in their Email it takes a lot of time to digitize and test each design and size. The other thing to take into account is the currency conversion. Here we have to add about half again to the price so a $1.39 design would cost me about $2.08 and then GST (tax) so could end up as $2.28 Aust. This makes you think twice and get something you know you will use more so than what you think is cute before you go crazy with your orders.
Yes, I got the notification last week. I'm like everyone else, I have more Emb Lib designs than i will use for the rest of my life. With prices rising like they are, I will just have to use the designs I have. I feel bad, but every budget is being hit hard with food prices rising as they are. I will make 1 last purchase and wish them well.
I received it the other day. I think they were the first site I bought designs from for my original machine, probably 20 years ago (time flies when you're embroidering!!) You know you are always getting a quality design and I think their prices are very fair, the sales are a bonus. If you look at other sites prices all prices are higher.
No. I haven't heard this! I'm very disappointed to hear about the change. I have enough EL designs to last me to the next century and have been "cutting back" on my purchases from them. Seems like a few of the sites I visit routinely are changing how they do business to increase profits.
Sadley the economy around the world isnt what it was. I bumped into a ex neighbour today and her husband has had no work since March as he is in the entertainments industry. Her daughter and boyfriend worked in the airlines and got jobs leading up to Christmas but now are jobless due to our sudden lockdown. This situation is world wide. Im presuming the new priceing on EL will be like UT its sister site. A sign of the times. Maybe we will now get round to using the many unstitched designs we have bought
I also received the email and disappointed in the change of prices. I am always disappointed when there isn't any designs that I cannot live without and not get invited to their "Happy Hour". Like you said.....What's a girl going to do.
