Gruff shrieked with delight when he opened the parcel with this in whic makes me happy
Grandmothers come up with the most fantastic creations for their grandchildren! This is a perfect solution to aid his memory.
This idea is probably a lot of work, but it occured to me that taking a photo of this and writing a little info about how it came to be made to put in a "memory" book for him would be a treasure for him later in life.
Turned out really cute. Like the colors & fabric you chose for the mat. Almost bought it myself. But I do have a question. Why would you need to cut the interfacing when the directions says to use either tear-away or WSS. Is it for more stability or something? Curious minds want to know. I'm always willing to learn a new trick or technique when embroidering.
The instructions were to sew some wadding in so there is a layer of wadding below the top fabric. I used a layer of curtain lining that has a thin layer of wadding on. Then to finish it off I used another piece of the curtain lining stuff. The end result is quite solid which is highly suitable for a 7 year old.. When I started to tear the interfacing off some of the wadding showed as wispy bits. Cutting helped to give it a nice neat finishe
Great idea, I always forget the names, would be in bigger pickup for me, Merry Christmas, hugs Maria
Brilliant work Caroline, he will treasure it for ever. Love Chris
This is so creative and the perfect answer to his question. I love it.
I hope he always has it to remember you at Christmas. It's so masculine and Christmas-y.
In the future whenever he uses it he will remember the conversation with you. Also he will always know all the names of Santa's reindeers. So well done.
Is it a coaster? I love Gruff and your idea, looks SO good!
