Laura while I have been following this post I have not replied. My suggestion is to make lots of bags, one of each colour. Seriously you have a great design and a super choice of fabrics
Oh, that would be so cool - I could just line them up and decide which one I liked best - lol .... Thank you, Caroline!!!
Hi Laura, these are such a great selection of fabrics. I'd go for a contrast - I can't believe I'm saying that as I hate Orange!! Anyway, whichever one you choose it will look great. Love Chris
P.S. I'm not a green lover either!
Thanks, Chris!!! Is there a reason you don't care for green? Hugs, Laura
It's funny, I think green doesn't suit my skin colour, whereas blues look good. I just prefer Blue. I do however always wear green eyeshadow! I think I've got one dress that has green in it and that was the one I wore on Christmas Day!! Love Chris
I'd go with #5 because it looks like all the colors of the ocean and keeps with the beach theme. BTW, that's a great stitchout! The thread colors you choose are so gorgeous on that background. I just love the little foot prints border!
I do love #5 as well - but, that is my problem - I like them all. Thank you - thank you for your kind words! It was digitized well - that is why it stitched out so easy! Hugs, Laura
I'm afraid I'm not a good helper .. I like them all..
Do hope to see the result !
No, you are just like me - I like them all too!! I promise, when I get the time to finish it - I will post it! Hugs to you! Laura
I love them all! Maybe go with the knots because of more color
I would go with #7, the turtles.
Thank you, Teresa! I love the turtles too. But, I am a tad hesitant to use it as it is my only piece like it and I will be giving this fabric basket away. Hope that makes sense.
Is there any way you and use some of the orang along with the #5 blue they would look beautiful .
because of the sea quote I would choose the blue with the seaturtle, but I love the number 5 too
I love the turtles too. I think I will sew the outside of the box first and drape each one of these over it and try to decide from there!
Anyone of them would be great...I guess personal preferences...blue is one of my favorite colors, however, I would probably pick one of the orange/coral fabrics as there is already so much blue in the embroidery and I think the contrast of the orange/coral would be a great accent.
Thanks, Kim, that is why I had those colors out too. The contrast would be pretty! I really am having a hard time deciding!
I love the darkest one - the one on the bottom. But, I really don't care for orange. I know it's not nice to discriminate among colors, but I really don't like orange - at least I didn't like it at all. I had this horrible orange carpet in my classrooms for 24 years. I think now that I'm retired I've begun to accept orange. At least when it is the color of those candy orange slices, or an actual orange. The sunset can be nice when it's orange. I can't wait to see your basket! Now I'm going to read the others and see which fabrics they think is best!
I love your orange carpet story. I had to drive my brother's old green car around for years - I hated that car. So, now if you were to walk into my closet - you would find very few clothes in green. Thank you Jan!
Any of the medium-dark blues would look good. The others might detract from the embroidery. A dark blue would just blend in with it.
Full disclosure: I don't like orange/coral fabric.
Medium-dark blue would be pretty. I have to admit though, I do love coral and blues (I guess that is obvious)!!
I'm also no help because I like all of the fabrics, perhaps I am leaning towards 1 or 7, then again, see not much help at all. Close your eyes and just pick one up and go with that. Good luck.
Not a bad idea - You'll see this in Projects when I finally make a decision - Thanks bunches! Laura
After I am through you will notice I am no help at all.
I consider myself a framer, meaning I like having darker colors on the outsides, so I would choose #5. Considering the beautiful sea themes on the other material I like #7. Best would be #7 liner and #5 as binding. Most likely the pattern is not designed for that. Actually I love all the materials. ........told you.......๐๐๐
You're right - any of them would probably be fine! I just wanted to get another opinion as having so many possible linings makes it harder to pick out - hope that makes sense!!! Thanks bunches! Laura
Take the bunch, throw it up in the air, and what ever hits the floor first. Ha, ha
Take the bunch, throw it up in the air,?
its that the way you do this often ๐
I wish I was able to see that, or do it together with you ๐
I like 3 or 4. Brings out the little bit of coral in the embroidery. Guess it depends on where it will be used. Very well done! I like the "sandy" background fabric. :0)
The coral is pretty! The fabric is duck canvas. It is actually from a (new - lol) drop cloth. I back the outside fabric with 809. Thank you for your suggestion!!
You could see a 2 or 2 1/2 inch strip of each color together and cut your lining from that. But if you donโt want to cut from each I like the ๐ข fabric. Ultimately itโs your personal choice, thatโs why we sew to make it our own work, isnโt it? Iโm sure whatever you decide will be right.
Yup, you're right it is a personal choice - just wondered what you would suggest. You have a great eye for fabric!
I like #6, 7 or 8--my youngest granddaughter is in to Beachy designs and decoration in her bedroom now. All the fabrics are good choice but these 3 are my preference. Will be beautiful whatever the choice is.
I was actually leaning towards those three - but, I wondered if I should go with one of the coral colors - thank you so much! Hugs, Laura
