First, the embroidery questions : yes the bear is stitched to the blanket, and I bought the bear and (plain) blanket for £3.50 / $7 (I think - or was it £2.50 / $5?) from our local Asda supermarket. I unpicked the seams of the blanket (which is a double-thickness velvety material) so that the reverse of the embroidery would be hidden inside it- it wasn't as easy to stitch back up again as it was to unpick, but I got it done in the end!
Second, the visit : it went far, far better than I could have ever dreamed of. The dogs were wonderfully well-behaved, they love children anyway and they were so gentle with her, and Rebecca thought they were the funniest things she'd ever seen and laughed and giggled as only a happy six-month-old can! I didn't get any photos of her with the dogs, but I did get one of her laughing at them which I will upload in a minute! Love from Dianne x x x
Oh thank you for the update - we knew it would be fun for all - even the dogs and especailly for Rebecca1
