Oh my! I love this so much I had to look it up and see hoop size and stitch count. A couple of the blocks are close to the top in stitch count.
Massive amount of stitches Chris. There are some close to 43,000. But, it sews out perfectly. Love Chris
My gosh, this is just gorgeous, Chris.......you are awesome!
It's turning out so beautiful........I can't believe how much you are getting done.........
Beautiful, a lot of sewing how big is it when finished...wendy
Hi Wendy, he should finish up about 33long x26wide (inches). I'm thinking I might get him framed. Besides the Navy blue and white quilt on my bed, this is the most stitches I've ever done in a design. Love Chris
This is going o be so beautiful. Great work Chris. Hugs
What a wonderful heirloom you have created! You are one talented gal and a master of your craft! Are you going to put some of that Scotchguard product that protects agains sunlight damage on it? I doubt that the Isacord would need it, but I have experience where my wall hangings with black fade.
Hi Penny, there actually isn't any black in this design except for the final step which consists of 288 stitches, which is the guide line.
The fabric is dark navy and once it's all sewn together you won't see any of the seams, well that's what the original picture looks like, so I hope mine does too. Love Chris
WOW Chris This hanging is so stunning!! Beautiful job as always. This will be a treasure in the future.
Wow, you are a speedy embroider! How many times have you had to change needles? This is such an impressive project! Well done!
Hi Laura, I've only changed needles once! I'm using the Superior brand 80 needle. I actually had the first thread break today and I think it was because it caught around the edge of the spool. I am so impressed with the digitising, Love Chris
Santa is complete and he looks so handsome! Love watching the progress on this wonderful project. Stunning!
Thanks for sharing these! It's a nice hint as to what the finished project will look like. I didn't realize that it was going to be a window pane stitchout, but I love how it looks like Santa is looking through the window! It looks like you have 7 more panes to go, so please post the finished project when you are done! I can hardly wait!!!
Hi Penny, no it's not going to be a window pane stitch out, it's going to be joined at each seam.
When I took the 3rd picture I still had 14 more tiles to do. I've done more today (Thursday it's now 10.20pm). So now I've only got 8 more panels to do, which is the last column. Love Chris
At this rate the whole panel will be finished by the end of the month ,ready to hang .I can understand why the design was expensive.
How many different colours are there in the design?
HI Judy, there are about 30 threads for the whole design, but some tiles have some colours more than once in them. Love Chris
Very pretty, when all done I will take it. Faster than me doing one LOL keep up the good work. Think I will have to get both of them.
Hi Linda, it's funny, once I start something like this, I have to keep going till I finish it. I'm not like some others who can do multiple projects at the same time. Love Chris
Very pretty thus far. Okay, I'm ready to guess what the picture is going to be!
Isn't he looking gorgeous? I've actually done 2 more since the last picture. Only 12 to go now!!!! Love Chris
This is really a beautiful panel, and as you said, the stitches are perfect, no breakage, worth the investment and your time to do this. Like everyone else, can't wait to see the finished project. You are so clever. Your choice of colors are also just right. Love, Mary
Thanks so much Mary, the threads were all bought especially from a company here in Australia that sold Isacord. They were brilliant with their expediency! I ordered them from Ebonycraft in Ringwood, Victoria on 4th January and they were delivered at my home the following week. We were still in Tasmania when Amy told me they had arrived. Love Chris
Oh my goodness it is beautiful. It better be an heirloom!!! You are so dedicated and brave. Wow!
Beautiful Chris! Looking forward to seeing the finished wall hanging.
Hi Mary, I can't wait either. I've done some more and am half way through the design - 16 done and 16 to go, Love Chris
Going to be a lovely wall hanging. Can't wait till it is finished.
Happy Stitching :-)
You are going to have a masterpiece when this is finished..........It is just beautiful.
This is Beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished. The colors are amazing and you are right. The digitizing is unbelievable!
Its is going to beautiful, I never like to take on this type of embroidery I always fear the machine will mess up I never trust myself in this type of design, It looks great.
Hi Jenne, I have never sewn out something so perfect. I can honestly say I’ve had no breakages of thread! That is something I’m not used to. Love Chris
I saw the post last year that led you to buy this design ,they were all beautiful. Are you considering do do any of the others?
Like everyone else ,Looking forward to see the finished picture, hope the cooler weather makes it easier to finish it.
I wonder what Marteen will say when you you get your machine has its next service ,1,000,000 sts might be a record.
Ha ha Judy, Maarten says my machines always have the highest number of stitches that he’s ever seen. He has taken good care of my Husqvarna machines for over 25 years!!! Love Chris
Looking forward to seeing the finished hanger. Hugs
You and me both Shirley. I'm just about to start on Tile number 11. Love Chris
Chris this is amazing. Great digitizing and well stitched out. The detail is amazing. It definetly qualifies for the title "Heirloom" once finished. Can't wait to see the completed project. This tile alone in a frame would be super,
Beautiful job, was good to see I inspired you to take on such a big job, it is worth it, once I got started I had to keep going. It was fun to see it unfold.
Oh! I agree dday (sorry I don't know your name). Yours was just gorgeous. I am very impatient now to get it finished. Thank you for your inspiration. Love Chris
P.S. It's pouring rain here today after 4-5 of a dreadful heatwave, so it's going to be a great day to sew.
You have the most amazing skills to create this gorgeous piece of art! It is definitely a heirloom piece!!! I'm anxious to see the other 10 that you have done. All the little details you provided are appreciated as I'm alway curious as to how things are done. You really hit the ball out of the park on this one!
Thanks so much Penny, I'll put up the others later today. I'm off for a hair cut at 9.30 and it's nearly 8.00am Thursday morning. Love Chris
What a Treasure!!!Stunning..Love it Awesome design..Doing fine job with it!!!
Such a jolly old elf and you can see the sparkly in his eyes. Just lovely Chris! I also can't wait to see the finished project.
Wow Chris This is a beautiful design. Such great details. I love it. Great job too. you always do such nice work. Suzanne
Beautiful, Chris....can't wait to see the finished masterpiece! Having the correct color palette is key!
Hi Kim, yes, that is so true. I haven't had one breakage, no stops at all, only to change bobbins! The design is brilliant and I cannot recommend highly enough the Isacord threads. Thanks for commenting, love Chris
Wow, that looks great. I find the design brilliant. Because of the high number of stitches, so I didn't buy it. . . Fortunately, you still have eleven months until it should be cheerful - LOL, hugs Maria
Hi Maria, yes, they are very stitch intensive, but the end result is worth it. Love Chris
Wow, that's a beautiful design. love it!
Hugs, Lidia
This is already gorgeous, so I will be watching for the finish. You will need a new machine after 1,000,000 stitches!!-lol Great work!
Thanks Toogie, you should see the other panels, it's just marvellous how the digitisers have interpreted the artist's drawing. Gosh, my machines have millions of stitches on them already. I'll have to upgrade I think once Trev retires! Love Chris
This is stunning! It will be an heirloom! I looked up the design and it is incredible. Your talent shows through!! Can't wait to see it completed!! Hugs, Laura
Isn't he just gorgeous Laura? I was blown away by "dday's" version and as I'm a collector of Santas knew I just had to have him. I can't wait to finish this one! Love Chris
WOW!!! Great Santa, how many more tiles till finished? What site had this? Thanks
Hi Linda, another 22 to go. It's OESD, above in the text and this particular tile had over 37,700 stitches. When finished the hanging will have close to 1,000,000 sttiches! I wanted the threads to match which were Isacord and so I ordered them from an Australian company. Whilst we were in Tasmania they rang me to say they didn't have 3 of the threads, so I've used some that were close to their threads. My husband Trevor was amazed at the detail. Me too!!!! Love Chris
