I made two bags, each for mother friends of other kids with special needs. Each of the kids uses a wheelchair. They wanted bags with lots of pockets, inside and out. So, pockets they got. I put a zipper at the top in case they wanted to close them, but mostly they wanted them open to get to things fast. I added some D rings along the sides incase they needed them for other things. Then I had to attach to the handle of the chair, so I used those parachute clips on kind of short straps, long enough where they could adjust them. I also made little "sidecars" for their water bottles. I made them just loose enough for the moms to pull the water bottle out easily and quickly. I used that plastic mesh you get for doing cross-stitch projects inside the front and back to give them body. Linda's was that wonderful black with tulip fabric and herringbone black and white inside. Then Orion's is all about frogs - they call him Tadpole, so I even included a bit of Kermit. So his is denim with lots of frogs. These were challenging, but I drew out the first one on the quilting grid paper, lots of planning on the design. Then the second one went a lot faster, just different pockets. They were each really pleased: Linda because I made it exactly as she suggested, and Orion's mom because it was a total surprise.

Hi Jan, I thought the same thing as Toogie as soon as I saw the Kermit fabric. I remember Ben loving him so much. The bags are awesome and so well thought out. We can never have enough pockets in things. I just wish they would put more in women's clothing too! Love Chris

These are awesome bags. I think I could use one just like it. The receiver must be over the top for all those available pockets. So well thought out and stitched.

Since they each go to lots of Dr appointments, I made a large flat pocket on the outside closest to the chair for paperwork. They really liked that. I was really pleased with how they turned out too! Surprised myself.

I know how rewarded you must have felt, especially using Ben's Kermit, made you feel like he was giving them too. How sweet of you! They really came out very nice. Linda (if this is Linda) sure looks pleased!

Yes, it is Linda - she's Nellie's Mom. We have supported each other now for 30 years. Nellie was Ben's favorite person and she adored him. We think they will be married in Heaven some day. She Loved the bag - it was ll her ideas put into one. I have just a limited amount of Kermit fabrics, so I don't use them on just anybody! I can't find any more to buy! Glad you like them!

Thanks, Christine1. Lots of pockets - and I don't like making pockets.

It took a long time putting g pockets everywhere and the actually construction was simple - except for figuring out how to hang them from the chairs. Thanks

Thanks, Laura. It felt REALLY good to make them. Very rewarding as I knew they were exactly what they needed with their chairs.
