I guess I will bug you to death, but here is another page I found, when I typed in Benartex 108 inch backing fabric.
Thank you for looking out for me,Toogie. I have looked at fabric.com and added several to "my cart". I am considering purchasing a swatch of several fabrics. The border still needs finished before any more decisions on backing. I will keep you posted. I am adding a link for you might like. This online store is here in my home town. They will let you shop with an appointment. All of the employees are very knowageable and friendly. https://www.rebsfabstash.com
This is the site I got my backing that I liked. Here is your collection, scroll down the page at the link, but I don't see it in the width you want. They do have a toll free number and may be able to help you match something in a 108 width. I have had to piece my backs before when I couldn't get the width but I'm like you. I like the 108 inch. It sometimes comes out about the same price or cheaper, and you don't have to piece.
The last two links were the 108 inch backing I ordered for some Civil War blocks I am making. The fabric is the same and the difference in the price shows only $1 a yard difference. However, when I signed up at fabric.com I got a 10% off first order and free shipping, so I ordered from them. I received my package in 3 days too.
You sound like us. We just go to the grocery store, Sams. It's an hour away and opens for Seniors at 7 during covid. That means up at 5 if you want coffee or eat before you go.-lol
Your quilt is coming together beautifully! I am confused though about something. In your original post above you said 'quilt as you go'. Below in a comment you said 'after quilting and putting together you hope it is just as pretty'.
I totally understand your hesitancy about buying fabric online. I have ordered and been extremely happy and pleased. I just ordered the backing for the quilt I am working on now. It was by Henry Glass. Missouri Star had it too, but I found the exact same thing $2 a yard cheaper at fabrics.com. They gave me a 10% off first order for signing up and free shipping because my order was over $49.
I have also ordered the same blue vine fabric I needed more of from Joanns and been just as disappointed. Dye lots were really off. I will be using it on the back of Shams and just hope the scraps I have of the original, will be enough for my scallop border on front of shams.
Good luck finding what you want and I look forward to seeing the finish.
After all the piecing is finished it is quilted in sections. Then the sections are put together. I have a couple of concerns, I do not want the quilting to dimish the cats, and when it is put together is gets hard to work with and hard to keep the pattern in alignment. I did order two different fabrics for that quilt that did not look good. For the back I need three yards of 108 inches and would that to be the binding also.
Love Love your quilt. The cat fabric is beautiful and your layout so clever and all the colors just make the quilt a happy one. I would love to have that cat fabric, but have never seen it in SA.
Thank you. The lay out did take several tries on graph paper before ever cutting fabric.
Love this quilt and the cats!
Scrap quilts are my favourite!
Well put together Pam, it's looking really effective and makes the eye look for all the hidden treasures. It's going to be gorgeous! Love Chris
Thank you, Chris. I am hoping after quilting and putting together is will be just as pretty.
It's amazing how all the details are different but go together beautifully. Having those cat panels in just the right spots really pull all the colors together. Nice work! I look forward to seeing the completed quilt.
I had a total of 12 cats and planned to use them all, I realized that would be too much and not look good. With 6 more cats I need to come up with another idea how to use them.
This makes my heart happy, especially the cat designs. Very original.
