Toogie, I am trying to reach Lillian B and Maria Hail. Are they OK? Kay Jowers aka katydid. Love you!
I haven’t heard anything from either one but graceandham spoke with Mrs Lillian aka lbrow but I think it was before the storms. I’ve sent a pm and an email to Maria Hail but no response. She is around Katy, Texas I think.
Did Alabama get a lot of the storm? My electricity, internet all were out so I don’t know who all was affected. I’ll try to call Mrs Lillian tomorrow. I hope I remember and I’ll let you know.
Good to hear from you Kay so appreciate you checking in. Watch for a pm or your email.
I sent you an email and also put a post here on Cute. She got some snow, but never lost electricity. She has very poor phone and internet service, so it's hard for her to get online and stay on, without losing signal/service. Her last check up went well, considering. Check your email!
Prayers coming your way! This has been horrible weather for all.
Hi Toogie, I have been watching the terrible cold snaps that are occurring in the USA and I want to add my prayers for all who are in the forefront of the storms. I am off to Church in an hour so will uphold Dalton and pray that he comes to no harm whilst out there facing the elements. God be with him and all who love him. Love Chris
He text his mom that night. His 42 hour workday ended at 2:40 and was on his way to the hotel. Arrived and no hot water for a shower. He said it was not fun. Thank you Chris. He works storm aftermaths a lot but somehow this one really worried me for him. Their baby is due next month , I hope he is home for the birth.
Toogie sending good wishes to you and hope for a change of weather
Prayers for all. Hope you soon get some better weather. Hugs
It is unbelievable how this cold snap has paralyzed almost 3/4 of our country... Hoping the weather will change soon for all impacted by this freeze. Although I fear that when the thaw begins, many might be in more peril...
Prayers for all!!! My son also works for the power company, in PA. He has had some very scary situations lately with all the bad weather. Prayers that you all have full power/water restored and for all the others also. God Bless you Toogie!!!!
Then I know what a worry sometimes it is for you. Someone has to work these jobs so all of us can live comfortably but they are dangerous. Not only dangerous because you’re fooling with electricity but they could fall from heights. He knows I have a fear of heights and sometimes send me a video or picture 😳 All these guys need our prayers all the time, but more so when working storms and long hours.
Praying for linemen and other workers and all in the path of this crazy weather. Hope your power and water are restored quickly!
Oh my gosh folks! I just thought about Avery. We need to include her in our prayers.
Thank you for remembering. Richard and Marsha made it to Ashley’s and helped pack up Avery’s necessary equipment and took her and the kids to their house. Although no one had power because lines were down here & at Ashley’s, Richard has fireplace. They were going to put Ashley and kids in pool house using one generator and they were going to stay in their large camper using other generator. However, when they got home, their electricity was on so they all stayed in the house until yesterday afternoon when mine & Ashleys power was restored. Thank you for thinking about and praying for our girl. They said she spent a lot of time by the fireplace. She probably likes to hear the crackle of the wood burning.
Praying for you and your family, especially Dalton, and all who are cold and in danger.
Thank you Betsey and Dalton made it home. I spoke with him yesterday. He had called to see if we had power, his crew was on their way home. At that time we didn’t, but we told him the electric guy told us they would get us on before dark.
Yes pray changes things, we can reach you, but our prayers can.
I am being reminded that the most valuable linemen are not in the NFL. They are the ones that climb up poles and crawl into lift baskets in frigid temperatures to maintain and restore our lifestyles. Thanks to all the fine folks who go to great heights to provide comfort for the rest of us.
Lord, please bless and shelter Dalton and all of the linemen working in unimaginable conditions. Give their families peace and comfort until this is over and they come home safe. Amen
Amen again!
Thank you friend. He came home safe, him and the crew. They are some tough, hard working guys!
I’m not on Facebook but I was told some people were complaining about the service not being restored sooner. These same people wouldn’t work these hours, in terrible weather for other people if they can’t do whatever they can for their on family to survive without gripping. Linemen are only human and can only do what is humanly possible. I’m speaking about locals.
Now I’m not talking about the situation in Texas. That was out of the lineman’s control. My heart has ached for their situation and I am concerned for Nan aka mrskiki on here, Maria and other Cuties from Texas.
My prayers have been going up since this began and they won't stop until it over. I'm glad you reminded us to pray for the linemen and others. We checked with people we know in Texas and many are stuck in their homes because their cars are frozen in the driveway and the roads unpassable.
So true Karen. No one down south was prepared for this. I know to northerners, some westerners, this is a way of life in winter and thus are expecting, equipped and prepared. A lot of people, especially new builds are all electric. If power goes off then no heat, no hot water, no cooking. They also can’t run to hardware stores and purchase portable heating if the roads are impassable. We heard people were burning personal belongings to try to warm up. Sad very sad. A homeless man in Shreveport,La froze to death. So so horrible. I am sure there are other stories so when someone has shelter and mental capacities, be thankful.
Oh, Toogie, all that I have heard on the news about the loss of power during this terrible cold, sounds awful. Prayers for your grandson, Dalton and his co-workers - may they stay safe. Hopefully everyone's power is restored without harm to anyone. Hugs to you and yours, Laura
Thanks Laura, our kids worried about us I believe and nights got awful cold, 12 degrees one night but we survived without heat at night. Just hope it doesn’t make us sick because we take our 2nd vaccine on the 8th.
