Dying to know what did you decide on?
I had a huge disappointment about an hour ago - the machine I was considering was sold. I should have put some money down on it for them to hold it for me while I decided. So, now I am looking further. But, I have decided on the 10 needle machine - just not certain when I will actually own it! I promise I'll post a picture of it whenever I get it! You are so kind!! I felt like a little kid when they said the 10 needle machine had been sold! Hugs, Laura
Maybe you were not meant to have that machine and something better is just around the corner for you. Giving you more time to test others out.
Here in Australia the Craft Shows are starting back with all the latest machines being shown so hopefully where you are things will improve soon and you can go exploring.
go for the 10 needle you will not be sorry you did. I love mine!!!!
Thank you, Suzanne. So good to know that you also love your 10 needle machine! Hugs!!!
Go for the 10 while you have a wonderful husband to help you out! Hug him from each of us. You are a very lucky lady.
I know I am blessed, without a doubt!! Thank you for your kind words!! Hugs!
I agree with everyone, go with the 10 needle. I know the threading can look intimidating, but, it will be easier than you think. I have learned in the past, it is better to have a little too much machine than to to have a machine that doesn't do as much as you would like. Both machines would be great, but having those 4 extra needles when threading for designs with 30 thread changes is wonderful. And give your hubby an extra hug for taking such good care of you.
Great advice! Just now, I was embroidering on my little machine (big one in the shop!) and I had to change my thread 7 times!! Made me think how nice it would be to have them loaded and just embroider! Thanks bunches, Karen - hope you are feeling better every day!
I only know a little about the Brother machines..... Had briefly dreamed of the PR1050x, but the purchase price and maintenance costs deterred me. Since I don't embroider the same thing in series and don't want to embroider caps, I don't need the ten needle machine. I have the V3 and the XE1, they embroider just as fast, just takes time to thread. Am curious how you decide, have a nice weekend.
What are the models of the two machines...even they are "new" they may not be newest models...although that may not be an issue... I have a Baby Lock Valiant...10 needle and I love it...make sure you are clear about what comes with each machine...the largest single hooping hoop on my Valiant is 8x14, the 14x14 requires you to split the design in software stitch half turn the hoop and stitch the other half...but the cameras make it a snap to position any design. Tell us more! And, I say like Angie...don't argue with the hubby....In my book you will be disappointed if you pass up a 10 needle for a 6 needle...Also, if you really love ITH embroidery items, you have so much more flexibility and capabilities with a multi-needle...especially with the foot height "restrictions" of a single needle...
The 10 is the Valiant and the 6 is the Intrepid. I am beginning to believe I would be disappointed if I didn't go ahead and get the Valiant. I think I'll look at some Youtubes on each and learn a little more about them. Thanks Kim - I appreciate your input!
Go for the Valiant...you will not be disappointed...and bonus, you will now be able to walk away from your machine without fear an interpretation!
I have a 4-needle and can only dream of a 10 or 16. Go for the larger one. It so nice to be able to use a lot of clours without changing them half way through a design. Especially when doing a design multiple times it is a joy not to have to rethread, although it's easy enough when you knot the thread and pull through. I tend to use my Ruby on designs that need more than 4 colours - and there are a lot of those. I use the multineedle for FSL, redwork, monograms and so on.
I don't have a multi needle machine but would see what comes with each machine as standard and what is extra in the way of hoops. Hoops can be an expensive extra purchase.
Try them both out and decide what suits your needs for now and also for the what if moments we all have if only our machine would do the bit bigger or bit extra.
I know what you mean - my first embroidery machine used a 4x4 hoop!!! Thanks and hugs!
I have a 6 needle machine, its fun to use but I dont use it enough. But machine embroidery is fun and a hobby. Depends what you want to do with the proposed new machine. Are you able to try out both machines first? The ten needle machine will require re threading less often than the 6 needle.
I mostly do things for our big family. But, I have participated in a few local small craft fairs. Right now, my current machine is in the shop and for my family, I have 16 grocery bags to embroider for our 8 year old Granddaughter, 2 gifts each for 18 women who will attend my daughter-in-law to be Bachelorette Party and gifts for her attendants. I always have a list of stitching to do but, like you, I like to keep my hobby fun! Thanks bunches!
Do not argue with husband
😊😊
Angie, I believe you are correct - I probably shouldn't argue with my husband!! Love your humor!
