Great colors for a male. You will make him very happy one day.
Hi Toogie, WOW, WOW, WOW! This is simply stunning, I hope the person who receives it will appreciate all the work you put into it. I'm not a lover of these colours, but they have all come together beautifully. You are so good at making these and there is so much work involved. Personally I would like the quilt longer and wider. When I made my navy blue and white quilt I didn't make it big enough as I had not thought about how high the mattress was and I like a quilt to hang over the mattress.
Please take care of that shoulder, love Chris
Chris, I just finished the quilting of the quilt and made some shams, too. I added the other row so now it is a whopping 100 inches after quilting! Thanks, not my colors either, too dark.
Beautiful quilt Toogie! You get so much done - do you ever sleep?!! LOL
Well tonight I'm not and I really need to. Hubby has an early morning appointment and neither of us can sleep. I'm not sewing though-lol-Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
Your quilt is beautiful!
Thank you mops. I’m glad to be finished with the piecing. The blocks were fun but so many got boring. Placement of blocks was challenging and I’m still questioning myself if I like it. Probably would be happier with brighter colors, that’s why I thought ithe dark quilt could go to a male.
Your quilt top is beautiful! Love all the colors you used.
Thank you, dark colors I don’t usually work with because they are not my liking. I prefer brights and pastels. Fall colors with rust, gold, is about as close as I like, not too dark.
Again another beautiful quilt!!. That is a ton of cutting and piecing well worth the time. If you need queen size, there is no need to add any more rows, it is close to king size.
Great you have been able to get your second shot. Sorry to here it made you feel sick but now you are protected and shortly get back to normal.
It takes about 14 days after last shot for optimum protection but it’s getting closer!
Thanks about the quilt!
A great quilt, will look wonderful when the quilting is added. the victory when a job is completed. Give yourself a pat pat on the back. Have you ever used bias bars?
No I haven’t but I’ve seen them used in appliqué for vines or stems. Yes I wish the quilting was over.
Toogie, it's wonderful. That was a lot of cutting. Wow.
As always you did a fabulous job. I am always amazed how well all of your corners meet. You are the Queen of Quilts.
Now it is time to let your shoulder heal.
Absolutely love it!!! Reproduction fabrics are my second faves after batiks! Another great quilt. Tonya
Thanks Tonya. I have wondered how batiks quilt out. They seem like they are a tight weave but I know they are used a lot. I just haven’t.....yet
Batiks are really nice to work with. I love the color variations available too. You could start using some making a small wall hanging.....you will become addicted! lol
Toogie! this is absolutely stunning! How big are your little squares and then the blocks? I inheritated lots of civil war fabrics from my mom. This is beautiful - but so much work!
Thanks Jan. I stated the size of squares above but then squared each block to 12 inches, finishing at 11 1/2 inch.
Wow Toogie, all your work paid off, it looks fantastic! Finding the right size . . . is quite simple, rather something too big, than too small. Hugs Maria
ps. Nice that you have the second vaccination - yippy, I heard that you should take one tablet before the vaccination and two after, then chills and fever stay away.
I am seriously leaning toward adding the row, who knows they may end up having a King!
We were better last night so hope chills and fever over. We are feeling ok this morning so I hope it’s over now.
WOW!! This is a great quilt. I would add the extra row . I finally made a quilt to keep for our queen bed and even tho it is 90 x 102 I would like it just a little wider as I didn't take into account the new mattress is one of the 18 inch deep ones so it seems a little skimpy on the overhang. i must confess that I did my quilting by checkbook!!!The queen size is just to huge to wrestle with!
I am tempted to quilt with my checkbook too-lol- I just wanted to make every part of the project for my kids/grands. My friend here says add the row too, thanks!
I love this, Toogie... I would leave off the last row as I am not fond of square quilts... Perhaps make some pillows with the extra blocks since you already have enough for shams?
Oh my gosh! I would say it is worth every moment it took to do this quilt top. It is gorgeous. Please take care of that shoulder. Let it rest after working it so hard.
I am resting today for sure. I still haven’t decided to add the other row. Hope you are getting your strength back-thanks for looking
Toogie this is stunning. You creat beautiful quilts and the new owner of this is going to be very lucky
I was tickled to get these fabrics and making quilts for all the kids and grands is not cheap. I hope whoever gets this one appreciates the time we spent making it. As always hubby had a hand in helping me cutting the fabrics. Thank you
