Oh Caroline, you sound utterly fed up. Hope all your woes will be over soon and that getting out of lockdown is not too far away
Sarah I really look forwards to when we can move about more. As of yesterday we can move about more locally and in a week or so will be able to travel round Wales and we can meet 2 other adults in our gardens. Sitting outside in the garden with a hot hot coffee will be great. Thanks for replying
I really feel for you. The 2 most important pieces of machinery during a lockdown quit on you. Hopefully you get them fixed soon. This Covid has changed our life so much. I do not think we will ever be the same again. Hope a cyber hug helps.
The machine has just stitched out some leather so Im happy about that but cant take a picture as no phone...I do have a landline but its not the same as a mobile. Thanks so much for replying
Oh, now that is just adding insult to injury. It's bad enough that you can barely move outside your door and now your machine has to give you a scare and shame on that mobile phone dying. I hope your dealer was able to help you get the machine up and running again. And in the meantime, I am sending cyber hugs your way.
Thanks for replying Karen. Its a v v wet day here and I am sewing as I cannot find the tape inside the machine. I have carefully removed casing and rescrewed it back together. Thanks for the cyber hug and have one back
I am so sorry for you. I live in New York state in America. We are starting to ease out of restrictions a little at a time. Hubby and I actually went to a thrift store yesterday. (Yes, we are wearing our masks). A couple of weeks ago I just looked at all the pre-prepped masks I was working on and realized I've been sewing them non-stop for damn near a whole year! I set them aside and went back to the items I was making for our local animal shelter when the pandemic hit. I was just burned out when it came to mask making. I had enough left un-finished to mail out 3 boxes to the Navaho Nation out west where they will be finishing them and distributing them as well. Those 3 boxes cost us almost $100 just to mail so my mask making days are done except as needed for us personally. I heard on the news that many parts of the UK are in lockdown. I think this is not the first one, right? It upsets me here in America when people ignore the rules, come and go as they wish, and refuse to wear masks. There is no way to tell how many have gotten sick because of those who didn't take precautions. I'm sorry about your machine. I know it is worse you can't take it to your dealer. I hope you have a back up but I know most of us do not. Please take care and stay healthy. You'll survive this lockdown and hopefully it will be the last one.
Meri great to see you here. I have spent 6 months in lockdown over the past year. All the UK is in lockdown but each part will ease out differently. I live in a rural area and generally everyone is excellent at social distancing, wearing masks and following the rules.
I havnt made masks but I did sew scrubs so congratulations on the many you have made. The plus point I have had the first jab. Thanks for replying
