You can check to see how much free space you actually have on your computer. In WIN7, Left click on your computer icon. left cllick on the hard drive you want to check, do not open the hard drive but hover over it and right click on it and it brings up a window that you can see just how much free space the hard drive you chose has.
Yikes! I just had that problem and am still trying to fix it. It said my hard drive was full...could that be true? Yep. it can. It is a miserable problem to deal with since I'm not very computer savy. Fortunately, my external hard drives saved me.
If you have a Best Buy store near you, they have what is called a "Geek Squad." They come to your house and solve your computer problems. The last time they sent a guy to my house, he came to my house, he was covered from head to toe with even his shoes covered!
We. have a little business here - two brothers who were just geeky young men, Their business has really grown over the years and they are just wonderful. I have paid them $100 to move all my data from an old computer to the new one. Then, any time I have any glitches, or just forget how to do something, I can just go to them and they help me right there and then. Do you have someone equally as wonderful where you are?
When I do a backup I do not use a program. I copy the individual folders because I want to be able to see. I am afraid I can only guess that your backup includes operating system and is also on the one that cleared. Is the recycling bin full on the cleared one? I never had to do it, so I am not much help. I hope someone else is going to come along and have ideas.
Thanks. I've neverhad this happen. I just wish I knew more about how this works. Maybe should have done some practicing
on something like a test run like we do with our embroidery! lol
