Awesome job .So in the States your able to travel across the map?We are bound to our small town and can only leave for doctor appointments.
yes, but still requesting we wear a mask and stay six ft apart in restaurants and stores in NC at least - rest of the US might be different
As Patricia wrote, we are allowed to travel. Both of us have had our vaccinations, we do social distance, we wear our masks and when we are traveling - we only stop when absolutely have to. My husband still uses throw away gloves when filling the car up with gas. While we are mostly safe - we don't want to spread it by chance. Thanks, Carolyn! Hugs, Laura
I never get tired of seeing any creation anyone does. She will love this. I wanna go to FL for a month or two or three too.
We are lucky - my hubby's Dad has a small second home across the street from the beach (a non-busy beach). So we stay mostly there - but, we will drive down to his home and he will drive up to the beach too. It is a little paradise - did I say how lucky we are?
Hi Laura, this looks fabulous and I love the fabric you've used. It reminds me of sackcloth. The quote is great too and your sister in law will love it, especially as it was made by you.
Glad to see you are taking your machine with you on your trip. I do that just to go to our friend's place up in the Hunter Valley. Keeps me occupied!
Keep safe and now that you've had your shots it will lessen the worry about getting Covid. Love Chris
P.S. I'm taking my Mum for her first AstraZeneca shot on Friday. She's in the first group allowed to have one. Trev will be in the second call up and I'll be in the third (I'm still too young! he he he)
I always haul an embroidery machine with me to Florida if we are gone longer than 2 weeks, that is, as long as we are driving and there is the room. We will be safe - we have to be. Good luck to your Mum for her first shot. Hopefully, she will not have any side effects. Let us know how she does! Thanks and hugs! Laura
I love painter's drop cloth so think it is the perfect fabric to use for this basket. I love this basket. Well done on this. Wish I were able to travel. it would be lovely to take a trip to see you and give you a real hug Enjoy the trip and your time in Florida. Keep you eye out for a 10 needle. I have no doubt you will find one.
I know what you mean about traveling! We have been isolating for a year - never went anywhere except the drive through at the bank or a restaurant. Had our groceries delivered which we always cleaned. We have a big family, but, like so many, we spent every day and each holiday by ourselves. I haven't had my haircut in a year. Believe me, I am not complaining as my hubby and I are so blessed and enjoyed being together. Now, with our shots complete, we will continue to use masks, not be around a lot of people, wash our hands, travel safely, etc, but, my father-in-law is 92 and wants us to spend time with him. With caution, I believe it is time. I wish our travels took us in your direction in Florida - I would love to meet you and your handsome hubby and give you both a big hug. I hope you are feeling better every day and are able to meet your daily goals! My eyes tear-up just thinking how close we came to loosing you. What a scary time. Loads of hugs to you!!!
Sorry to hear the 10 needle didnt happen - yet but hope it will. Lovely work
Is the body of this bag done with painter's dropcloth?
Yes, it is. It is an inexpensive way to get a lot of fabric for the money and it helps to make the basket stand firm. I do put a fusible backing on it. Hugs!
A project in different material always seems to take on a different character. I love this one and so will the incredible cook you are giving it to.
Great gift, perfect for an incredible cook. I really like your choice of fabric and I never get tired of looking at project. Sorry to hear about your 10 needle machine, another one will come along. Keep us posted. Have a great time in Florida!
Thank you, Pam! I know I will eventually get a 10 needle machine - it will happen. We try to make a trip each year to visit my husband father who is 92 years old. He is in great shape, exercises everyday - which is probably what I should be doing - lol. Hugs!
