Updated at end. Please say prayers for my sweet friend and neighbor, Jackie. She is a hand quilter of quite some skill. Jackie has colon cancer and had been doing well with her treatments at age 93, but now she has had a major heart attack. They wanted to do a bypass, and she said no. Now they are talking less invasive interventions. She has a wonderful outlook on life and says she will probably get through the cancer, but if the Lord decides it's her time, it's her time, so she's not going to worry about it at all.

She has had a wonderful life so far and has been my front porch buddy during Covid. She and another friend and I visit on her porch several days a week. There is actually room for 4 spaced out across this great big porch. She has told us wonderful stories of her childhood, living in a very different time in the small town agricultural South, such as what it meant to "get in trouble" with her mama (it was minor). My favorite was when she told about missing her mama, in her thirties and going straight to her house and telling her she loved her and curling up in her arms like a little child. Such a wonderful image.

What an amazing woman your neighbour Jackie sounds and what a great outlook on her life. 93 is a super age to reach and I hope she has a good few years of life left. Good Luck to her
