On Saturday evening, there was another sporadic heavy rainfall, this time affecting the south of Germany - Bavaria. New flood waves rushed through the Berchtesgadener Land and Saxon Switzerland, as well as the Salzburger Land in Austria.
So far, a total of more than 130 people have died as a result of the severe weather in NRW and Rhineland-Pfalz. Many rivers and streams in the Eifel, Bergisches Land, Rhineland and Sauerland continue to flood. The situation at a dam is still risky, everyone hopes that the dams will not break. Fortunately, we had sunshine today and no rain is forecast for tomorrow, so that the clean-up work in the flooded areas can continue. Unfortunately there are also gawpers who hinder the work. Maria
Hi, thanks for your concern and all the Cutie Prayers. The trouble has been too close for comfort. They have calmed down a little, but may flare up again. We are living on our nerves not knowing when or if they are going to come to destroy houses. I have 2 daughters who work in shopping centres. The once has been unable to work and the other gets escorted to and from work. We still hear gunshots and loud bangs at night. Even though we are in a strict lockdown because of the Covid 19 epidemic they are not following the rules. Once again thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Cyber hugs from Maureen
It must be terrible to live in fear all the time, I don't know how you can stand it with your family, the unrest can flare up again at any time. I wish you much strength, good nerves and a guardian angel to watch over you, all my love Maria.
Thank you for your participation, these are still very critical locations, as various dams are in critical condition. The water continues to find its way. Unfortunately, people are still trapped and some dead in the houses that can not be entered, because many houses are washed out and can collapse. The disaster is not over yet.
I've Whatsappt with Angie, so to explain, it is not all of Germany flooded, it is two states in the west of Germany, bordering Holland and Belgium, where selective masses of water fell from the sky.
A dam has just burst and 700 people have to leave their village and are being evacuated, I hope this turns out well. Now it's midnight, let's see how it looks tomorrow morning.
I was in contact with bemara yesterday. She is OK. I will keep contact and check on her.
Yes, Karen I’ve replied to both posts. It’s just heartbreaking seeing what is happening in our world. We have to keep positive and pray for peace and for Mother Nature to calm down. ❤️👵🏻
Mother Nature has been trampled and is fighting back, this is just the beginning....
If you look at the link below they have both posted on Cute within the last 5 hours. Sarah in SA is also posting. Our thoughts are with all of them. The pictures of Germany show appalling devastation. As I was travelling to collect the boys yesterday there was a long report on SA and that too is dreadful and the after effects to both countries will last for a long long time
