Hi Caroline and all Cuties, I've been busy every day sewing at least a couple of hours and I, like Laura, thought I'd wait till I finished all my stockings I've made for the Ladies luncheon. It's nearly 11.30pm on Friday evening and I'll post them tomorrow.
It's winter down-under and it's great to find a warm spot out of the cold winds and soak up the sun.
The Covid Delta strain is hitting Sydney and outer suburbs really hard and lock down is everywhere down in their suburbs. I hope it doesn't come up here!!! Love Chris
Australia has done so well at keeping COVID at bay for so long. I admire that you create so much for your ladies luncheon but forget that its your winter. Your stockings are excellent
I haven't done any embroidery in over 3 years. I started back to work and it's all I can do to come home and feed by family. THEN Covid. The funk on the world. It seems to have stolen my creativity and energy. I work in an office and we are separated by rooms, we put on masks to walk down the hallway to the restroom and speak to each other on our desk extensions. Comradery is near non-existent. THEN, I look up and see the sun still shining, the birds still singing, the squirrels still storing up for winter and realize the world is going on and it won't be long until we can catch up and resume our lives, but not now. I love the way Martine phrased it, "a bit off colour." I couldn't agree more.
Sorry to hear your situation. I spent a afternoon blackcurrant picking with a friend last week and we sat outside with a cuppa and had a long chat. Oh I have missed my coffee and chats with friends. My mantra is I am still alive.
I haven't done any embroidery for ages - since last November actually. Just been knitting and sewing, trying to reduce my stash. And if it needed some embellishing I used the fancy stitches on my machine - too lazy to attach the embroidery unit.
To be honest, the social distancing makes me feel a bit off colour, not quite depressed but not my usual self either.
Martine sorry to hear your comments but I know you have attacked your stash. Yes a spark has gone from our lives. I am just happy to live where I do, not impressed with some of the tourists who dont want to follow what we do but hey ho I am alive
I have been very busy stitching for the Bachelorette party- but, I thought I would wait until I had finished all 18 of each item, before I post them. I agree though - I also believe fewer and fewer are responding to Birthday wishes. I may not know each Cute I wish a Happy Birthday to - but, even if there is a chance that it is the only Birthday Wish they receive on their special day - I am happy to respond!! Hugs to you!!! Laura
Hi Laura, I'm afraid that I check out each Cutie and see when their last post was. A lot of the Cuties that have the birthday message put on here are not longer coming here. Love Chris
Laura with a wedding on the horizon (and another) your busy and thanks for sharing your lovely embroidery. Keeps our spirits up and makes us want to get the machines out
I feel there have been fewer comments in the other sections and fewer pictures of any projects. I miss admiring the completed efforts.
