Great makeover!! When shopping at thrift stores, I look for items that can be made into something fashionable but I have a lack of imagination to have any idea what could be made. A pat on the back and hugs to you for a job well done.
Yes I do to , and this was almost new I believe because it was so small in the bust area is why it was give away, Its a shock when u visit a second hand store what people give away or get rid of, Our parents never would have dreamed of this day they lived so frugal compare to today.
You sure turned 50 cents into a treasure. Love these!...You must have a room for a closet!-lol
I do, when the children grew up two bedrooms became my sewing room and closet, My son made an area for himself in our basement, bedroom and living room plus a half bath, travels some so he is here part time My hubby loves to hunt I love to sew, I Taught quilting for some 20years at our senior center.
So pretty. Did the Bra straps and ring come on the original dress? Very good recycling on this item. Would never have thought to look at the bottom width to see if it would work. Often see very small items and pass them over as they would never fit.
Yes, they did and the loops for the buttons on the sweater came from the side and were belt loops, the very tail of the dress was like a fish tail so used it on the front the camisole.
I am sure you are the best dressed women in the neighborhood and a thrifty one too.
no not the best, but I do try to be thrifty, just love seeing what I can make out of something someone else has given away or don't want.
Very summery. Love the colour and your sewing
Thank you, this from a long dress with and under slip a second hand store, it look like it had never been worn very small in the bust so I used the tail of the skirt for my sweater I paid .50 cents for it.
