That is so pretty. As I have said before you are so clever with how you work things out. This quilt will be a stunner.
I hope so. I have 36 blocks made so 20 more to go. I hope it will be big enough because I’m not enjoying the piecing of this one and usually I do. I would hate to know I’d have to cut out and sew more- lol- I have put a 12 inch block together before that had 41 pieces that went faster than this one with 13. I didn’t have all this pinning….
WOW. Love this block. I can see it as a whole quilt or with one other block. Was the pattern in the antique magazine or did you draw it out from the picture? What size is the finished block? Can't wait to see the finished quilt. I'm going to start digging and see it I can find it and if not I'll see what I can do in drawing it and making templates.
If you don't have templates draw then out on paper and take them to where they cut glass and plexiglass and they can cut them for you cheap.
I don't think I need a set of plexiglass templates, I won't be making too many of these-lol A friend sent me the pieces and my printer is out so I just traced it off my screen. It's going to be about a 12 inch block, I believe. I like big blocks for large quilts. I think the block size needs to be portion to the quilt size, so the scale or look would be right. Just my thought anyway. Check your INBOX.
Wow! Toogie, this is gorgeouis, I love black and white anything and to add that pop of yellow is beautiful. Your fabrics are really cute too. Love it, love Chris
Ever since I made Avery's yellow backed quilt, Double Slice by Jenny Doan, I have really liked yellow. It's funny how our taste change or we didn't realize how much we like something. A lady from my quilting group brought in 9 boxes of sewing paraphernalia to give and I wasn't even going to look, because anybody that has seen my sewing room....well you get the picture. Anyway, Marge called me over to where she was looking and said there is a box full of black and white. She said she thought it was enough for me a big quilt, since I like to make bed size. That's all it took. I filled my huge Mondo Bag. I cut all these blocks out and I still have blk/wht fabric! May can another one twin size for a teenager CASA quilt. Hope so anyway!
What an interesting block...looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
Good work Toogie, it looks complicated. I look forward to seeing the completed quilt!
What an interesting block! They were probably done by hand back in the day. I'll look forward to seeing yours all joined together.
You are amazing like I said so many times before. I can not even have square pieces meet properly. They must be angry because they do not want to kiss. Toogie this will be a beautiful quilt
I am having to pin a lot! It’s going slow I am up to 21 now but I’m not staying with it. Taking lot of breaks. I think I have 56 altogether then I’ll see if it will be large enough. If not I have fabrics to make more but I may do borders, we will see.
This is going to be gorgeous! I have no idea how you manage because it looks so complicated. I am always amazed at your quilts.
This is the first time using this block and probably my last. Time will tell. I hope after all the time it takes to make that I like it.
I just went back out of curiosity and found my first post was August 26, 2010. It took me almost 11 years to reach 100,000 🌺 💐 I even ask a Cutie what the flowers were- lol
I can see why you pin and then pin some more. Lots of patience. It will be beautiful when done.
I have 56 blocks cut out but only 19 sewn up. I have to take breaks, because pinning so much, bothers my hands/wrist. I hope it comes out like I envision.
Wow, it looks beautiful but so complicated! You are amazing and deserve each flower in your garden!! Hugs!
