Thought I'd pass along an idea for making a quilt for children. I've made quilts that where half is a matching, game and the other half is a seek and find. It took a lot of shopping to find fabric that has objects in it and then buy enough to be able to cut out the exact same picture three times so that one half of the quilt has two pictures (matching game, and the other half of the quilt has only one picture (a seek and find). Fold the quilt in half, you can play one game or the other. Gathering the fabric and cutting out the exact same picture was the hard part. But, I did enjoy making them.

I make kids quilts a lot. This sounds like such a fun idea. I'd love to see a picture too! Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo. I had gave the quilts away to a very dear friend at the time and who was becoming a Grand Mother. This was years ago.

Great idea! I have heard of and made I Spy quilts, where you search and find but never thought of the Match Game quilt. I don’t have very much children related fabrics or scraps though but I can see where it would be fun. The front side an I Spy and backing could be the Match game. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks! The one half would have two exact pictures (matchine game) and the other half one picture (seek and find). So, you fussy cut 3 of the same picture. Folding the quilt in half would give you a choice of two games. If the quilt was opened up, then it'd be a "search and find" for 3 pictures which could be difficult depending on the child's age.

Sounds so cute, but do you have a picture for those of us with low imaginations?
