Hello Cuties! I made an extra large size throw from mostly recycle and items on hand. You may recognize the little scraps from my brother in law Douglas’ shirts in the narrow strips. The jeans are recycled except for the darkest color. That denim was given to me in a large roll. The backside are 2 small soft fleece throw blankets I pieced together so it would be large enough. I tried to match the plaids, as best I could, without losing too much width. The top was actually a little wider, so I had to trim it to meet the width of the blankets. You can see where it’s pieced because one of the blankets plaids run crooked. I don’t think a guy will notice or really care. It still made up 58x 79. I didn’t use any batting, or wadding some people say, in between. It is heavy like a weighted quilt but it hugs around you well, because it’s not stiff. I am hoping some CASA teenage boy will love it. I don’t have the ‘right’ fabrics to make boy quilts so I thought this could be suitable for a guy. I need to ‘name’ it. I can’t think of the words I am looking for but I am thinking of when sound goes up and down on a scale. Do you know what it’s called or understand what I am trying to say?

I try to keep busy because can’t get out. Our state in full of Covid and all hospitals are maxed out. I have to keep my mind positive and busy making for others.
Hope you like my ‘throw’. Have a nice day❤️Toogie

Great work Toogie. I feel like I'm looking through vertical blinds out to the city scape. I'm always amazed at how much you and hubby achieve. Glad to see you are getting him involved - being sedentary is not good for one's health! Love Chris

It does look like vertical blinds. I like everyone’s perspective or interpretation. Thanks

What a great idea Toogie! I think it's lovely, great for a young man. A great use for recycled denim!
I am also working with my scraps, trying to get them under control! LOL I think I am winning - as long as I don't cut anything else out (for now!) Also a friend of mine moved away, and left me heaps of fabric, which I am using to make cancer quilts.

You come up with the best ideas. Can't see a join in the plaid blankets.

Any teenager or man will be very happy with this quilt. I would call it "Inspiration"

Love this throw. Great idea. It does remind me of the silhouette of a city. You were thinking out of the box and it became a perfect quilt for a male. As always Toogie. Great job.

Glad you like it, thanks! I really do like the feel of the jeans and Minky blankets. It’s so soft and hugs you. I need a huge hug- my friend Carol just lost her husband. Her daughter is still on ventilator.

I am so sorry that he lost the battle. Praying for Carols daughter.

I keep staring at this quilt. It is so interesting I keep seeing something new, like playing peek a boo and stripes o a flag and I could go on. I have no doubt that this will be loved by a young boy or even a young man. Keep on staying busy because I know it is helping you stay sane.

It does and helps him too, as I enlist him with the cutting. Thanks I don’t have too much a guy could claim, but I think this will work.

What a wonderful way to keep busy during the Covid crisis. I think it looks like small flags in between the denim. I think I would call it, "United". It is very clever!! Hugs, Laura

I love it. Like the different shades of denim, it sets off your colours so nicely. Well done!!

Thanks mops. My husband holds my rulers for me to cut with the rotary. He usually doesn’t know what ‘we’ are making because I can’t show him if it in my head-lol- I like to see his reaction when he sees it coming together. I’m glad to involve him because he watches too much television, especially since we are staying in.

I love it, Toogie. My first impression was "The City in Rain". I see grey outlines of skyscrapers plus colorful rain falling in the foreground. Very creative use of your scraps.
